This is a pipeline requisition in software engineering for a Release Train Engineer on the Case Management Modernization program, which modernizes enterprise case management systems for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts using Agile and SAFe practices.
You act as chief Scrum Master for an Agile Release Train that coordinates several Scrum teams building, integrating and deploying cloud-based solutions, keeping development and testing in sync while promoting continuous improvement and transparency in a federal contracting setting.
The company is a global technology and professional services firm with about 26,000 staff in more than 50 countries, serving federal civilian, defense and intelligence agencies in AI, cloud, cyber and software development.
Responsibilities
Act as servant leader and facilitator for the Agile Release Train, keeping its work aligned with the modernization roadmap.
Plan and run PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops and Scrum of Scrums so that several Agile teams deliver in step.
Coach and mentor teams and standardize processes across architecture, development, testing and operations as Agile and SAFe are adopted.
Find program-level risks, dependencies and impediments early, and escalate them to stakeholders when needed.
Give cross-team visibility into sprint goals, deliverables and milestones across the trains supporting the modernization.
Track and report ART metrics such as velocity, feature completion, defect trends, predictability and PI objectives to program leadership.
Work with Product Managers, System Architects and Scrum Masters so the program vision and roadmap are delivered as one effort.
Improve the continuous delivery pipeline through automation, CI/CD tuning and DevSecOps alignment.
Make sure delivery follows federal Agile standards, documentation rules and the performance metrics set in the SOW.
Build a culture of transparency, accountability and servant leadership so each PI delivers measurable business value.
Produce PI planning artifacts such as roadmaps, PI objectives, dependency maps and iteration schedules.
Produce ART and sprint metrics reports, including burndown charts, velocity trends, feature dashboards and risk registers.
Produce retrospective reports with actionable items and improvement roadmaps tied to modernization performance goals.
Produce cross-team coordination deliverables: consolidated status reports, integration plans and release readiness checklists.
Maintain governance records for Agile audits, including SAFe adherence records, risk logs and compliance matrices.
Target outcomes: more than 95% PI objective achievement across ARTs, 100% on-time PI Planning and System Demos, velocity variance of 10% or less over three consecutive PIs, and at least 25% fewer cross-team impediments through better dependency tracking.
