Release Train Engineer

Description

You will act as a servant leader, working with government leaders, scrum masters, Agile teams and the whole Agile Release Train (ART) to run ART events and help the ART deliver value.

You will sit on the leadership team and support work for some of the most important U.S. Government missions, using current technologies.

The role is a full-time, regular position in Information Technology.

Responsibilities

• Run PI Planning Readiness, PI Planning, Inspect and Adapt (I&A) and other ART events.
• Build and maintain the program board so everyone stays focused on the deliverables that matter most.
• Remove or escalate impediments to flow, and encourage a habit of continuous improvement.
• Coach and mentor every scrum master on the ART.
• Guide teams in Agile practices and promote Continuous Exploration.
• Help the ART judge its capacity and track PI metrics for Outcomes, Flow and Competency.
• Find and clear ART-level dependencies and risks.
• Help build and update PI roadmaps and the program vision.
• Summarize team Program Increment objectives and share them with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Required: an active Secret clearance.
• Required: a bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus seven (7) years of related experience.
• Required: two (2) years of experience as a SAFe Release Train Engineer.
• Required: three (3) years of experience as a scrum master.
• Required: current certification as a SAFe Release Train Engineer.
• Required: strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.
• Required: the ability to adjust quickly in a fast-changing environment.
• Desired: Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) credential.
• Desired: Certified SAFe Agilist credential.
• Desired: federal government experience.

Conditions

The role is full time and regular, with up to 10% local travel.

A Secret clearance is the minimum required to start.

The position can be done from more than one location, so the posted salary range is the national average for the role.

Final pay depends on factors such as location, federal contract labor categories and wage rates, prior experience, specific skills, education and certifications.

The proposed salary range is $90,300-$189,600.
