This Quality Engineer III role supports eCommerce projects, including large-scale web applications, internal tools and software.
You will work inside project teams that plan, test and ship code, and you will help the team meet quality standards from start to finish.
Responsibilities
Join project team meetings to shape project plans, review requirements, and advise developers on quality expectations and on code that is easy to test and dependable.
Run quality assurance testing on large eCommerce web applications, tools and software. Work with project teams to set test cases and requirements, write them (white, gray or black box where suitable) to match requirements and standards, and get the team to approve them before running them against the product.
Compare test outcomes with expected results and report findings and required fixes to the team.
Build software quality assurance (SQA) test plans for your assigned projects. Define the exact testing scope, the data and environment needs, the dependencies and risks, and the timing of test deliverables.
Take part in projects of every size: review requirements, help write and develop code, run unit tests, share status and issues with team members and stakeholders, work with cross-functional groups, troubleshoot open issues and bug fixes, and keep delivery and handoffs on schedule.
Help fix coding errors by reviewing algorithms with developers, writing unit test plans and test requirements based on code behaviour, and analysing results to find needed fixes. Check application logs, databases and configuration files when troubleshooting, fix minor code errors, and recommend code changes for testing failures.
Stay current on your field, advise others on applying practices and best approaches, align your work with customer and business needs, and build agreement behind your views and reasoning.
Build relationships with key stakeholders, identify business needs, set up and run the processes needed to meet them, track progress and results, spot and act on improvements, and adjust to shifting priorities, reorganisations and new duties.
