Description

You will join the quality assurance department and report to the quality assurance manager. The role has no direct reports.

You will audit the quality management system at the level of systems, processes and products, and support several areas of the company, mainly production, customer support and training (including MRO), engineering and procurement.

You will work with process owners across departments to review containment steps and corrective action plans, and you will suggest ways to improve products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Gather audit evidence through a structured, independent and documented method, and assess it impartially to judge how well it meets the audit criteria.
  • Review earlier audit findings to spot and reduce risk.
  • Take on other tasks tied to the company's quality policy, goals, values and mission, as they are assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or a high school diploma combined with relevant work in aerospace, electrical, mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • One to three years of aerospace quality experience.
  • A working grasp of how a quality system is built, documented and put in place against domestic and international standards.
  • An understanding of how product and service quality is evaluated and controlled.
  • A basic knowledge of auditing, covering audit types, planning, preparation, carrying out the audit, reporting findings and following up.
  • Familiarity with problem-solving and quality improvement tools and methods.
  • Ability to build and run quality programs, including tracking, analysing and reporting results and solving problems.
  • Ability to identify, explain and apply each stage of corrective action: spotting the problem, analysing failures, finding root causes, fixing the problem, preventing recurrence and checking that the fix works.
  • AS9100 certification preferred.

Conditions

Reports to the quality assurance manager with no direct reports.
