This is a Quality Assurance Manager role on a new contract supporting the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

You will oversee application stability, reliability and testing quality while leading QA engineers and automation testers. The job combines senior leadership, hands-on technical oversight, people management and direct work with the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Set the test automation strategy and oversee how automated test coverage is built out.
  • Confirm releases meet regulatory standards for accuracy, traceability and controlled workflows, and are ready for UAT and production.
  • Work with FDA leads, program managers and scientific reviewers so that testing supports the mission.
  • Run functional, regression, end-to-end, performance and UAT cycles, and check that published results meet program quality standards.
  • Coordinate parallel testing for DME, O&M, Facilities, Microbiology and AI-enabled workflows across sequential and parallel development tracks.
  • Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, prioritization, fix tracking and regression checks across all FDA applications.
  • Give the PMO, technical leads and government stakeholders clear defect visibility, and escalate risks and blockers quickly.
  • Report QA status, quality dashboards, defect metrics and readiness assessments to FDA stakeholders, PMO leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing standards, processes and documentation across FDA workstreams.

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor's degree and have 10+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience in place of the degree.
  • You have 5+ years of building and running test plans and scripts for web-based applications.
  • You have 3+ years of working with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • You have people management experience.
  • You bring skills in defect triage, people management, test automation and test plan design.
  • You must be able to obtain and keep Public Trust, which requires US residency for 3 of the 5 years.
  • Desired: FDA experience, which is strongly preferred.
  • Desired: experience with Acceptance Test Driven Development (Gherkin) and Behavior Driven Development.
  • Desired: Agile or Scrum work using Rally or JIRA.
  • Desired: strong verbal and written communication skills.
