Description

The company helps other businesses connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications, from edge to cloud.

The team is hiring a software quality automation engineer to improve product quality through scalable test frameworks, smart automation and thorough validation.

The company values software engineering skill more than traditional QA experience, especially Python development, automation design and problem solving. Candidates with strong coding skills and cloud application experience who are interested in quality engineering are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain automated test frameworks and tools in Python.
  • Create scalable automation that validates cloud features, web UI and REST APIs.

  • Work closely with software engineers to find, reproduce, troubleshoot and fix defects.
  • Analyze system behavior, logs and telemetry to diagnose complex problems.
  • Set up and maintain test environments, automation pipelines and quality metrics.
  • Take part in feature reviews and give feedback on testability and automation strategy.
  • Reproduce customer-reported issues in lab environments when needed.
  • Keep improving automation coverage, test efficiency and release quality.
  • Write documentation covering automation solutions, test methods and troubleshooting steps.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or a similar technical subject.
  • 2+ years of software engineering, automation engineering, quality engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Python programming, including building software or automation solutions.
  • Experience designing, building and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience validating REST APIs and web applications.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working independently and leading technical solutions with little supervision.
  • Preferred: experience with Selenium, Playwright, pytest or similar automation frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Django, RESTful services and modern web architectures.
  • Preferred: knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
  • Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
  • Preferred: experience supporting enterprise SaaS products.
  • You will show strong coding ability and software development fundamentals.
  • You will design and build automation rather than only running existing test suites.
  • You will think analytically and enjoy solving complex technical problems.
  • You will stay self-motivated and work well in a demanding engineering environment.
  • You will communicate well in writing and in speech and collaborate effectively.
  • You will be curious, keep learning and take ownership of your work.
  • You must be able to join team meetings three times a week, during early or late hours, to support international teams and customers.

You must be available for meetings outside standard business hours at least 3 days per week.

No travel is required.

The expected base salary is USD 84,200.00 to 170,300.00 per year in California, and actual offers may vary based on location, experience, education and skill level.
