QA Automation Engineer (f/m/x)

Description

The team works in the Bucharest technology centre, set up in 2013, which builds global technology products and services and supports the bank's technology transformation.

The company runs a hands-on engineering culture focused on learning, sharing knowledge, building technical skills and networking. The team's applications serve many key business areas.

The team is building a new workflow automation platform to simplify business process interaction and automation with modern tooling. The core provides shared processes, libraries, indexing, data enrichment and user interaction for connected use cases, with the aim of high availability, high performance and quick business adoption with little downtime.

The stack includes Java, Camunda, Spring, Hibernate and Elasticsearch, deployed on OpenShift/Kubernetes and delivered through end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.

The role covers analysis, development and administration across the workflow platform. You will help plan engineering solutions for business goals and build reliability into them through testing and review at each delivery stage, with a focus on maintainable, reusable code.

Responsibilities

• Help create, maintain and run automated tests, working under the guidance of senior colleagues across the full test automation scope.
• Take part in load and performance testing to keep the platform stable.
• Work with IT and business teams to understand testing needs and suggest process improvements.
• Contribute to project processes such as defect and change management, systems integration and test planning.
• Carry out manual testing when needed to support fast delivery of new application features.
• Use AI tools to raise your productivity and streamline workflows, applying sound judgment to use data and AI output responsibly and ethically.

Requirements

• Solid programming skills, preferably in Java, and a wish to learn modern frameworks such as Spring and SpringBoot.
• Strong interest in test automation and readiness to learn tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, BDD, Rest Assured and CI/CD solutions.
• Experience with backend testing concepts, such as API testing with Postman, and a working understanding of performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Sound theoretical knowledge of the software testing lifecycle, including test planning, writing cases and scripts, and choosing an execution strategy.
• Curiosity and a proactive approach to integration and regression testing and to coordinating with support systems.
• Emotionally and mentally balanced.
