Description

The company is a global technology firm with more than 28,000 employees that helps manufacturers become more productive, sustainable, and agile. Its customers include food, medicine, water, and clean mobility businesses.

The role is a project manager position in the Project Management Office, working with engineering, product, program, and business managers to turn product roadmaps into delivered products.

You will manage new products that combine electronic hardware and embedded software, from project start through development, testing, and release to manufacturing.

Project teams may be spread across global sites, and you will help make sure the plant is ready to build the product when it launches.

Responsibilities

  • Work with teams across disciplines to build and maintain delivery plans, budgets, finances, and resource plans.
  • Look ahead to spot dependencies, likely obstacles, and risks, and set up mitigation and contingency plans before problems arise.
  • Bring people together to make decisions, resolve complex issues and risks, and manage change.
  • Report progress, decisions, issues, risks, and mitigation plans clearly to your team and senior leadership.
  • Keep projects aligned with other initiatives so work is not duplicated or pointed in conflicting directions.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and strategy to improve how new products and features are delivered.
  • Coordinate engineering teams in an Agile environment, and work with manufacturing and sourcing to prepare for release.
  • You will not manage direct reports in this role.

Requirements

  • You must have a bachelor's degree.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the US. The company will not sponsor employment visas for this role, now or in the future.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of relevant experience is typically expected.
  • Preferred: a bachelor of science in an engineering discipline.
  • Preferred: advanced training or certification in PMI/PMP, Lean Six Sigma, business administration, management, operations, project engineering, or Agile/Scrum.
  • Preferred: experience developing products or applications, especially electronic hardware and embedded software.
  • Preferred: experience leading projects or project teams.
  • Preferred: experience leading indirect resources and working with management.
  • Preferred: proven skill in project planning, including budgeting and forecasting, plus execution and risk management.
  • Preferred: familiarity with tools such as Atlassian Jira, Jama, SAP, and scheduling software.
  • Preferred: experience with Agile/Scrum, especially the Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Preferred: knowledge of product certifications such as 61508 functional safety, 62443 security, UL, CE, and TUV.
  • Preferred: technical knowledge of industrial controls, new product design, hardware and software, product testing, manufacturing, or sustaining engineering.

Conditions

Based in Mayfield Heights, OH or Milwaukee, WI, reporting to a manager in the Project Management Office.

Hybrid: you are expected to work on site at a company location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, unless a business need takes you away.

Some domestic and international travel may be required to meet team members and move projects forward.

Some projects may require working with international teams.

Flexible work schedule, arranged with your manager.

Pay and level depend on experience, as this role is part of a job family.

The company is an equal opportunity employer, including disability and veterans.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision health insurance.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Paid time off.
  • Parental and caregiver leave.
