Project Manager - Steering/EPS

Description

The Vehicle Motion Division builds safety and motion systems for passenger cars, light trucks and medium heavy trucks, covering steering, braking, occupant safety and vehicle dynamic sensors. It is also working on software and services for software defined vehicles.

This role leads cross-functional project and program teams that deliver against agreed customer requirements, and you take real ownership of the results.

Responsibilities

• Build program timelines and activity reports that keep critical tasks on schedule.
• Track open issues until they are closed, covering quality, cost, timing, profit and customer satisfaction. Identify and rank them, communicate clearly, and carry out agreed fixes.
• Coordinate between the customer and the company's cross-functional teams to resolve issues, and escalate when needed.
• Organize, lead and track engineering changes through the company's change process, making sure customer milestones are met. Hold the team accountable for project deliverables.
• Handle customer change requests, including design, tooling and process changes, assessing their risk, cost and timing impact.
• Share internal project status through steering committee meetings, project health checks, open points lists and customer project reviews as needed.
• Review specifications, drawings and requirements, prepare impact analyses against the original project assumptions, and coordinate change points with stakeholders. Create internal sample orders for products and services when required.
• Share customer program data internally for forecasting and planning, and maintain data in customer portals and project folders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business.
• 3+ years of relevant project experience, including working directly with customers.
• Knowledge of project management processes and tools, such as team structures, schedule formats, progress and financial reports, presentations, and forecasting and tracking tools.
• Mix of technical knowledge in mechatronics and commercial skills.
• Experience working on and joining project teams.
• Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Preferred: Experience working with or at GM.

Conditions

Travel up to 10%, which may include international trips.
