Description

You lead manufacturing projects that add capacity and new technology to production at the Nyíregyháza site and across EMEA, with a focus on safety and effective delivery.

You work in the company's Manufacturing Design and Implementation (MD&I) team, supporting global and local manufacturing teams. Moulding is the first area of focus.

Projects differ in size and difficulty. They include moulding capacity and technology work and logistics projects, such as technology upgrades at the Hungarian site, on-time capacity expansions, improvements to team operations, and stakeholder communication materials.

You build a working knowledge of manufacturing operations and collaborate with engineers in Hungary and Billund, project managers worldwide, and stakeholders across the organisation.

The role is based in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, and acts as a key link to the company's largest European production site. Stakeholder management, communication, planning and execution are central, and the work changes quickly with production needs.

The team covers the process from silo building to the finished product being packed into a plastic box, and the wider scope may extend to logistics and other factory areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Nyíregyháza and EMEA manufacturing projects, starting with moulding work such as capacity expansion, technology implementation, retrofits, and machine or equipment relocation and installation, with possible later responsibility for logistics and other factory projects.
  • Own the scope, objectives, plan, milestones, budget, risks, opportunities, stakeholders and delivery status within the approved project framework.
  • Set up the project organisation and working methods, identify the specialists needed, plan resource requirements, and agree allocations with resource owners and leadership.
  • Drive implementation and ramp-up in line with the approved Project Brief, Business Case, steering committee direction, the LEGO Project Model and applicable policies and standards.
  • Coordinate delivery across local Operations and global MD&I Moulding colleagues, including Platform Owners, technology specialists, Quality, EHS, IT, Finance, Procurement and suppliers.
  • Keep stakeholders informed through clear communication, progress reports, decision papers, issue handling and escalation. Organise steering committee meetings where needed.
  • Plan and control testing, installation, go-live and operational readiness, and make sure platform-related technical decisions are agreed with the relevant Platform Owner.
  • Hand over cleanly to Manufacturing and Technology Owners, covering documentation, asset registration, project archive, After Action Review and closure reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading projects, or large parts of projects, from planning through execution, implementation and handover.
  • Working knowledge of scope, schedule, budget, risk and opportunity management, resource planning, change control and progress reporting.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Ability to explain complex technical or business topics clearly and to prepare short decision material for stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Strong skills in collaboration, facilitation, problem-solving, prioritisation and follow-through.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, compliance and careful documentation in a manufacturing or technical delivery setting.
  • A relevant academic degree in engineering, project management, logistics or another related technical field, with practical ability for manufacturing projects.
  • English at professional level for work in an international organisation. Fluent English. Hungarian at native level.
  • Nice to have: experience with injection moulding, manufacturing equipment, factory capacity, logistics, material flow, retrofit, relocation, installation or ramp-up projects.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of recognised project management methods and structured continuous improvement approaches.
  • Nice to have: experience in a global or cross-cultural manufacturing organisation.
  • Nice to have: English language capability and familiarity with the NYI operating environment.
