Description

The role is remote and can be based anywhere in North America.

You will lead engineers and other specialists who design, build and run complex water treatment projects within the Industrial Market portfolio, and you are accountable for those projects succeeding overall.

You will work alongside the Lead Engineer and the Sourcing Project Leader, running every stage of a project from contract signing through process and equipment design, vendor selection, fabrication, shipping, installation and startup.

Quality and safety come first, and you keep the work on scope, schedule and budget. You report status, budget and schedule progress, and you set and manage expectations with clients and vendors.

The company is a global environmental services provider working on all five continents, with nearly 218,000 employees across water, energy and waste. Its Water Tech unit is a team of experienced professionals working on water scarcity, quality, productivity and energy problems.

Responsibilities

  • Take water treatment equipment projects from start to finish.
  • Shape how the contract will be carried out and set clear project goals.
  • Build and keep up realistic plans covering scope, budget, schedule and major milestones.
  • Make sure every team member knows the priorities, the project structure and their own role.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers and internal groups to meet contract and technical requirements.
  • Raise issues quickly when they could significantly affect cost, schedule, scope or quality.
  • Track progress through regular reviews and internal reports, and adjust plans when needed.
  • Find, assess and handle project risks and opportunities.
  • Manage project changes and support claims handling when required.
  • Take an active part in technical meetings and project reviews.
  • Work with technical experts and discipline engineers to solve problems and cover critical topics.
  • Maintain action plans, making sure actions close on time and match project objectives.

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics or an equivalent field.
  • Required: 10 years managing projects that include both equipment procurement and construction.
  • Required: a valid passport.
  • Required: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or the ability to earn it within one year.
  • Preferred: experience running engineering and procurement contracts.
  • Preferred: experience designing or building industrial process systems, particularly water treatment in chemical, oil and gas, or power markets.
  • Strong planning, organization and time management, with clear, concise communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical, rigorous approach with a solid grounding in engineering principles and water treatment design and operation.
  • Able to direct experts, coach individuals and keep the project on track, facilitate team meetings and deliverables, and resolve team conflicts when needed.
  • Able to communicate clearly with varied audiences, including senior and executive leaders at the company and at client organizations.
  • Able to handle shifting demands with professionalism and good judgment, and to work well in a networked, highly flexible role with several stakeholders, including under ambiguous or changing conditions.

Conditions

Travel domestically and internationally 5-20% of the time.

Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the U.S. immediately; the employer will not sponsor U.S. work authorization, such as an H-1B visa, for this role.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applications without discrimination.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance from day one.
  • 401(k) plan with a 3% default contribution and matching.
  • Flexible spending and health savings accounts.
