The role also sets the direction for an engineering center of excellence meant to support a future proprietary satellite product portfolio.

The hire is for National Programs, a group of classified programs inside Space Mission Systems, which sits within Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems. You will support one program in that group.

You will oversee every technical part of a space program: product definition, validation, software and systems engineering, design integration, test and evaluation, and certification, covering both company staff and supplier work.

You will build up multidisciplinary skills, model-based tools and standard processes for delivering space products across the full program lifecycle.

You will report directly to the National Programs Chief Engineer.

  • Run project execution until the work statement is complete.
  • Plan and coordinate the resources needed across the full project or program life.
  • Feed lessons learned into process improvements, and present results, assessments and corrective actions to company management.
  • Work independently.

Requirements

  • Have at least 10 years of experience developing space systems.
  • Have 14 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent mix of technical education and experience, or non-US equivalent qualifications.
  • Level 6 (Senior) is typically 20 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent mix of technical education and experience, or non-US equivalent qualifications.
  • Preferred: hold a current Tier 5 security investigation or an active DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance.
