The company is a international specialist insurer that focuses on a narrow set of areas where it has deep expertise, rather than mass-market products. It was founded in 1901 and still works like a younger, ambitious business, with a culture that questions established ways of doing things.
The Change Management Team works with every area of the London Market business unit to build leading capabilities across people, processes and systems, aiming for lasting changes that bring measurable benefit to customers and support strategic goals.
The team works at pace, shaping the future of the London Market.
Responsibilities
Join the Claims value stream as a Product Owner and help drive its next stage of digital development. You will report to the Product Owner Chapter Lead and work with business, technology and data teams to turn strategy into clear priorities and measurable results.
Own the product roadmap for an established Claims platform, from discovery through delivery and adoption. Improve Claims processes and user experiences while balancing near-term needs against the longer-term vision.
Investigate how AI, data science and other emerging technologies could strengthen Claims in future, shape new ideas and influence product direction.
Own and actively manage a complex backlog spanning several streams, tied to strategic objectives and OKRs, so the delivery team always has work flowing.
Turn vague business problems into clear, outcome-driven delivery goals.
Make sure sprint goals are clear, achievable and linked to roadmap milestones.
Run workshops to plan delivery iterations, assess value and rank work so the most valuable items come first.
Break requirements into delivery increments, refine them with the team, and write clear acceptance criteria.
Be the delivery team's first point of contact for questions, requirement clarification and removing blockers.
Represent customer needs day to day and make sure everyone understands the business value of each increment.
Take part in stand-ups, refinement, planning and retrospectives, working with the Scrum Master to keep them effective.
Report progress against the roadmap to the Product Manager, escalating risks, issues and blockers, and explaining actual versus expected progress and any knock-on effects.
Lead and motivate a delivery team in a matrix structure, including internal staff and third-party suppliers.
Build productive relationships inside and outside the company, grounded in each party's business drivers and benefits.
Work with London Market stakeholders to shape scope, manage expectations and align on direction.
Advise stakeholders on trade-offs, sequencing and delivery options.
Coach less experienced Product Owners and help improve Product Owner Chapter standards and capability.
