Product Manager

Description

The company moves business payments and runs cash management, with more than 35 years in the market and over $16 trillion in payments handled each year.

The team is Business Payments Network, which supports Paymode with fraud prevention, security and compliance work.

This is a hands-on product role focused on delivery: turning business problems into clear requirements and working with developers to get solutions built.

Responsibilities

• Take priorities and roadmap initiatives set by senior product colleagues and turn them into work development teams can act on, supporting delivery through each stage of the product lifecycle.
• Write business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that state the outcome needed without dictating the technical approach.
• Act as the main product contact for development teams, helping with sprint planning, clarifying requirements, status discussions and carrying agreed priorities through to completion.
• Build working relationships across Product, Engineering, Security/CISO, Network Operations and other groups so solutions meet business, customer, security and compliance needs.
• Use data and automation to support better decisions, cut manual work and build stronger fraud and compliance capabilities.
• Question existing ways of working and help teams try better approaches, staying within security, legal and regulatory limits.
• Design with customers in mind so compliant behaviour is encouraged without adding unnecessary friction or blockers.
• Give clear, confident updates on progress, priorities, dependencies and problems to both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
• Build your knowledge of fraud, security, risk and compliance in B2B payments, and bring in internal specialists when you need deeper expertise.
• Help assess internal capabilities and third-party tools on their business value, effectiveness, scalability and fit with the wider product set.

Requirements

• Product management, product ownership or closely related experience in a SaaS, software or technology setting.
• A track record of turning business problems and outcomes into clear requirements, user stories and development tasks.
• Confidence working directly with software developers in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Jira is highly valued, since the team works in it.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage both technical teams and senior business leaders.
• An adaptable, collaborative style, comfortable moving between projects, priorities and stakeholder groups.
• A focus on outcomes over prescribing technical solutions, leaving architecture and implementation choices to engineers.
• Curiosity about how data and automation can improve products, processes and decisions.
• The willingness to challenge existing processes constructively and test new approaches.
• Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, fraud, security, risk or compliance is an advantage, but deep regulatory expertise is not required.
