Description

Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.

The Company operates Snapchat , a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world, and Specs Inc. , a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to making computing more human, in addition to Bitmoji , Saturn, and other digital services.

Bitmoji brings visual identity and human expression into the ways people communicate, create, and play. The team builds the avatar experience and the products around it, helping Snapchatters represent themselves and connect with friends across Snapchat. Our work spans the core avatar and personalization experience, as well as Bitmoji across surfaces such as Chat, Profile, Stories, Lenses, and games.

About the role

We’re looking for a Product Manager to own Bitmoji end to end. You’ll set product direction and lead execution across the Bitmoji experience from how Snapchatters create and personalize their avatars to how those avatars show up across Snapchat. You’ll partner closely with Design, Engineering, Data Science, Research, and Content teams to turn a broad product vision into useful, expressive experiences that Snapchatters return to.

Responsibilities

  • Define Bitmoji’s product vision, strategy, and roadmap, connecting the core avatar experience to the ways Snapchatters communicate, create, and play.
  • Own product discovery and execution across Bitmoji, including avatar creation and personalization, fashion and content experiences, and integrations across Snapchat surfaces.
  • Identify user needs and opportunities through research, product data, competitive analysis, and close collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Prioritize investments across user value, product quality, growth, and business impact; make clear tradeoffs and bring teams along through ambiguity.
  • Partner with Designers, Engineers, Data Scientists, Researchers, and Content teams to define requirements, ship high-quality products, and iterate based on results.
  • Bring strong taste and a clear point of view to Bitmoji’s creative direction, partnering with the Content team on everything from fashion drops to viral moments.
  • Define success and input metrics; use experimentation and quantitative analysis to understand impact on engagement, retention, and other relevant product outcomes.
  • Ensure Bitmoji experiences feel cohesive as they travel across Snapchat, working with partner teams to make integrations intuitive and consistent.
  • Communicate product direction, decisions, and progress clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to deliver outstanding results in a fast-paced, collaborative, and kind environment.
  • Ability to build trust with Engineering, Data Science, Design, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to define and analyze success and input metrics, and use evidence to make product decisions.
  • Ability to think creatively and approach product problems with user empathy and system-level thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of product-oriented quantitative analysis, including statistical analysis.
  • Strong product sense for visual, personalized, and social experiences; ability to connect user needs around identity and self-expression to clear product opportunities.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of practical work experience
  • 4+ years of experience building and shipping products at a technology company; OR a Masters and 3+ years of experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience across the entire product lifecycle, including defining product needs, prioritization, and pre- and post-launch execution.
  • Experience building consumer social, communication, personalization, avatar, content, or other highly visual products.
  • Experience setting product strategy and delivering across multiple surfaces, teams, or connected user journeys.
  • Experience using experimentation and quantitative analysis to improve consumer product outcomes.
  • Familiarity with one or more adjacent areas such as fashion, games, augmented reality, creator tools, or content production.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity and deliver high-quality products at scale.
  • The expected pay range for this role is $142,000 – $187,000 CAD. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable for the position.
