Description

The company has been selling art and luxury objects since 1744, through auctions, private sales and retail. It covers 70 selling categories, from contemporary and Old Masters art to jewelry, watches, wine and spirits, design, collectible cars and real estate, with specialists in 40 countries and a technology platform behind them.

The company Financial Services is an art lender that provides capital to collectors worldwide and has originated more than $12 billion in loans since it began. The new global headquarters is open in the Breuer building at 945 Madison Avenue, New York City.

This role owns, defines and drives the product roadmap for critical internal workflows in the company's proprietary tools. You will work with stakeholders, designers and engineers. The team wants someone eager to learn and happy to work as part of a group, who enjoys simplifying workflows and raising efficiency with new technology, and who likes digging into complex business logic to reach practical, well-fitted solutions for the company and its staff.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a roadmap that reflects end-user needs, feeds into your manager's roadmap, and reports delivery and impact against company goals to stakeholders.
  • Work with design, engineering and QA in a cross-functional product team, and with other product teams, to map out requirements and deliver clear solutions to complex business problems in small increments.
  • Set work priorities and handle requests by weighing costs against benefits, while keeping candid, positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Run user research and interviews, and use data to guide decisions and set priorities.
  • Work with business partners to encourage uptake of new tools and product features.
  • Build strong working relationships with business sponsors, stakeholders and product users. Understand what they need, use data to rank requests, and make a persuasive case for the outcomes that serve users best.
  • Write clear feature specifications, including user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting material such as comparables, wireframes and flowcharts.
  • Decide when and how to involve design, so the problem is well defined and design shapes ideas and solutions.
  • Work across technology and business teams to recommend the options that give end users the most value, as fast as possible.
  • Make sure everyone involved shares one understanding of the problem and the proposed solution.
  • Learn the company's overall strategy and your pillar's direction, and contribute to it through your product work.
  • State clearly how the goals of your projects support a broader team goal.
  • Draft a near-term product roadmap that fits the wider Product Management team's goals and the company's goals.
  • Ask stakeholders and team members for feedback at relevant points in the work.
  • Turn user feedback into recommendations for future product improvements.
  • Understand the art auction market and how it moves.

Requirements

  • Experience building software for complex business workflows, or a deep understanding of how property is received and processed by an auction house.
  • Ability to think through the problem with design, and to bring stakeholders and engineers to a shared understanding of the solution.

Conditions

The proposed base salary is $80,000-$90,000. Offers depend on factors such as relevant skills, training, experience, education and any licensure or certifications, as well as market and organizational considerations.

Benefits

  • Eligible for a discretionary bonus and a competitive benefits package in addition to base salary.
