The company is building more sustainable cooling products for data centres. This role leads product direction and commercial results for applied air-cooled chillers in EMEA, working with customers, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing to launch new products and grow a European chiller team.
Responsibilities
Act as the product and commercial lead for applied air-cooled chillers used in mission-critical and data-centre settings.
Run each assigned product line through its full lifecycle and own its results: revenue, margin, cost, quality and competitiveness.
Turn customer and market needs into product requirements, and help bring new products to market across regions.
Maintain roadmaps and business plans, using customer input, market trends and competitor benchmarks to set investment priorities.
Lead the product-management side of new product introductions alongside the Dublin Engineering Centre of Excellence and global teams.
Set clear priorities across mechanical and electrical systems, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and power.
Analyse performance, cost, pricing, features and competitive position, and recommend actions that shape business decisions.
Help shape pricing and product value propositions that meet customer needs and business goals.
Keep up with market requirements, regulations and customer expectations in data centres and other mission-critical applications.
Give visible product leadership as the EMEA chiller engineering and manufacturing organisation builds its skills, processes and market presence.
First six months: learn the current development programmes, portfolio and customer requirements; build working relationships with the Dublin engineering team, global product teams, Sales, Manufacturing and other stakeholders; join customer conversations about current applications and future needs; spot ways to improve product-management processes and help the European chiller team mature; and take an active, hands-on role in setting priorities and ways of working rather than only observing and documenting.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing or a related field. An engineering degree is strongly preferred, given the technical products, customers and sales channels.
At least five years of relevant work experience, including about three years in product, service or offering management, or closely related product ownership.
Experience with complex engineered products such as HVAC, chillers, heavy machinery, industrial equipment or other high-technology manufacturing.
A solid understanding of chillers, HVAC systems or similar technical products, including how cost, performance and value are balanced.
Experience directing engineering teams across several technical disciplines.
Ability to work with Sales and business leaders and explain performance, cost, pricing, market trends and competitor insight clearly.
Experience analysing large data sets and producing clear reports and recommendations that support decisions.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with enough credibility to engage technical customers and internal specialists.
A proactive attitude and a real interest in building a new product and engineering capability in EMEA.
Preferred: product management, product development, applications engineering, technical sales or product marketing in commercial or applied HVAC, particularly air-cooled chillers.
Preferred: experience with products used in data centres, mission-critical facilities or other demanding commercial and industrial settings.
Preferred: knowledge of current HVAC market trends, competitor products and how customers buy.
Preferred: experience gathering voice of customer and handling complex customer or product issues.
Preferred: understanding of capital expenditure, budgeting and investment measures such as ROI, IRR and NPV.
Preferred: a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; chemical engineering may also be relevant. An MBA or other postgraduate business qualification is an advantage.
Conditions
Based in Dublin, Ireland, near the engineering operation.
Hybrid working, with at least about three days per week in the office to work closely with Engineering and other stakeholders.
Moderate domestic and international travel for customer visits, industry conferences and workshops, roughly once or twice a year, with occasional trips of one to two weeks.
Individual-contributor role reporting to the Air-Cooled Chiller product leadership organisation.
The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
Benefits
Help build a growing European chiller capability rather than maintain an established operation.
Work with a diverse global team and build relationships across customers, Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing.
Contribute to products that improve energy efficiency and support more sustainable cooling for buildings and data centres.
Work in a fast-growing, technically advanced market where your work has visible impact on customers and the business.
