Description

The company is building an AI-native primary research platform for enterprises, investment firms and asset managers. It automates the full workflow, from designing studies and recruiting experts to running AI-moderated interviews and synthesizing insights, cutting weeks of manual work down to hours.

The expert research market is dominated by legacy providers whose services are costly, manual and slow. Strategy teams often spend hundreds of hours coordinating intermediaries and scheduling calls, and still get short-lived intelligence after weeks.

The AI Moderator runs thousands of expert interviews each month, capturing purchasing plans, competitive displacement and real-time ROI signals. These are turned into time-series data on over 10,000 public and private companies, which can be queried instantly in natural language. Customers include large enterprises, hedge funds, PE firms, credit investors and venture capital firms.

The team is a small, early-stage group in New York at one of the fastest-growing startups in its space.

Responsibilities

  • Design the workflows people use to run research, explore evidence and make decisions with AI, keeping each next step clear even when the information is complex.
  • Make AI-driven workflows easy to follow, so users can move from a research question to evidence and a decision, guide the automation, inspect results and stay in control.
  • Build realistic prototypes quickly to test interaction ideas with users and to work through technical limits with engineering.
  • Design collaboration, permissions and admin features so teams can work together and see who can view and do what.
  • Work with product and engineering to find opportunities, question assumptions and weigh user needs, business goals and build effort.
  • Evolve reusable components and interaction patterns to make the product more consistent and help the team ship faster.
  • Turn research, customer feedback and usage data into priorities, and revisit decisions when new evidence arrives.
  • Work alongside product, engineering and design from early exploration through launch and iteration.
  • Help shape the research practices and prototyping approach that support the company's continuous intelligence vision.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product design experience, with a portfolio showing your contributions to shipped work, the reasoning behind your decisions and what you learned.
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills, including detailed interactions, product states and polished execution, with complex workflows that feel approachable.
  • Experience designing B2B or enterprise software, including how different roles, information needs and organizational constraints shape the experience.
  • Ability to frame ambiguous problems, compare approaches and decide what is worth building, including knowing when to move fast and when to validate further.
  • Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or v0, and the ability to use prototypes to answer questions about how something should work.
  • Ability to use research, customer feedback and product data to inform decisions and improve work after launch.
  • Clear communication through words, flows and prototypes, openness to feedback, and close collaboration to reach good decisions.
  • High standards for craft, strong product judgment and an entrepreneurial, collaborative approach.
  • Nice to have: experience designing AI-powered experiences that give users real control and clear, trustworthy results, beyond simple chat interfaces.
  • Nice to have: experience helping a growing team improve its design system or design practices to deliver consistent, high-quality work.
  • Nice to have: use of research, feedback and analytics to challenge assumptions and iterate after launch.
  • Nice to have: ability to move between design and code. Frontend development experience is a plus, and some designers on the team contribute production code.
