Description

The company runs a global digital sports platform that lets fans buy licensed gear, collect physical and digital cards and memorabilia, and bet, with a sportsbook and iGaming platform in development.

The company has a database of more than 100 million sports fans and works with roughly 900 sports properties, including leagues, players associations, teams, colleges, conferences and retailers.

It also works with 2,500 athletes and celebrities, 200 of them exclusive, and operates over 2,000 retail locations, including Lids stores. More than 22,000 people work there.

The collectibles division makes and sells physical and digital trading cards, memorabilia and collectibles. It is backed by experienced investors and sports and entertainment partners and reaches over 81 million fans across the wider platform.

The team is shaping three products: a long-running trading card brand, a creator-led live shopping product where fans join card breaks, and a collecting platform for buying, selling, vaulting and managing collections.

The role sits within a team that works across these products and partners with the in-house graphic designer on how each brand looks and feels.

The company is also setting up a technology hub in Mexico City to focus on operational excellence, platform scalability, trust, and customer experience, working with customer experience, trust and safety, fraud prevention, payments, and financial operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design clear, engaging web and mobile experiences for the trading card brand, the live shopping product and the collecting platform.
  • Turn product requirements, user needs and business goals into flows, wireframes, prototypes and finished interfaces.
  • Take part in design work from early concepts through detailed design and build.
  • Work with product managers and engineers to clarify requirements, test options and bring designs to life.
  • Team up with other designers to understand user problems and find solutions within the existing product and design direction.
  • Work with the graphic designer and creative partners so each product feels connected to its brand.
  • Use and extend the existing design systems, patterns and interaction standards to keep experiences consistent.
  • Improve designs using feedback, research, product insights and data.
  • Make prototypes and other artifacts that explain ideas and support collaboration.
  • Join design critiques, brainstorms, product reviews and cross-functional sessions.
  • Support engineering during build so the design's quality and intent reach the final product.
  • Manage your assigned projects and priorities, and flag progress, open questions and risks early.
  • Keep up with new patterns and trends in product design, mobile, social, marketplaces, live commerce, sports and collecting.

Requirements

  • Experience in product, UX/UI, interaction or related digital design, gained through jobs, internships, freelance work or other relevant projects.
  • A portfolio that shows how you approach product design and solve interface and user experience problems.
  • Solid grounding in visual and interaction design, covering layout, typography, hierarchy, usability and responsive design.
  • Experience designing for web, mobile or both.
  • Working knowledge of Figma or a similar design and prototyping tool.
  • Understanding of user-centred design and a wish to grow your product design skills.
  • Ability to take a defined problem or set of requirements and explore good design solutions.
  • Careful attention to detail and openness to feedback and revision.
  • Clear communication of design ideas and the reasoning behind your choices.
  • Willingness to work closely with product, engineering, design and creative colleagues.
  • Ability to juggle several assignments and priorities in a fast environment.
  • Curiosity and a drive to keep learning and improving your craft.
  • Interest in sports, collectibles, entertainment, community, live commerce or digital marketplaces is a plus.
