Description

The company is looking for an experienced consultant with a client-facing background who enjoys building business insights for healthcare companies.

Real-world data is becoming a standard tool for commercial decisions across the industry.

Pharma teams increasingly need to understand patients early in the pipeline, at speed and at lower cost, assess commercial goals quickly and so support a stronger product launch.

Healthcare organisations now use real-world data well beyond safety and regulatory work, across the whole product lifecycle, for marketing, portfolio planning and business insights.

The company holds the largest real-world patient dataset by therapeutic area and country coverage, and wants an entrepreneurial person to help shape the Real World Commercial Analytics team and grow work from pharma headquarters that relies on real-world data for commercial decisions.

The company is building its US part of the global team and is hiring experienced people to focus on US-based pharma headquarters. An experienced person with a suitable career path can join the US RWCA team as it takes shape.

If you want to lead in this area and work with a committed team helping clients in a tougher market, this role may suit you.

The role sits within the global Data, Technology and Advisory Services centres of excellence, which design and deliver commercial insight solutions for headquarter-based pharma and healthcare clients worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in using real-world patient data to answer commercial questions from pharma clients, with a focus on headquarters and multi-country work.
  • Build and grow the Real World Patient Insights and Commercial Analytics offering and support pharma headquarters and their commercial functions globally.
  • Meet an individual sales target.
  • Develop close relationships with clients at every level, from operational staff to senior management, at dedicated headquarter accounts.
  • Design and deliver insightful strategies that solve complex client problems.
  • Find and build new business, including follow-on work and new revenue with existing and new client organisations.
  • Manage several consulting projects of differing complexity, keeping them on time and on budget for pharma and related industry clients.
  • Own client engagements and ongoing relationships, and take ultimate responsibility for client satisfaction and high-quality, added-value delivery at every stage.
  • Act as a senior adviser, giving direction, advice and intellectual leadership to clients and delivery teams.
  • Lead thought leadership and represent the area internally and externally through speaking, client meetings and publications.
  • Track industry, client and competitor trends so you can spot new business challenges early with your clients.
  • Take part in annual performance reviews and take ownership within the company.
  • Mentor and coach others, and share subject expertise to build individual and team capability for world-class client solutions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 10 to 12 years of relevant experience, including consulting and/or pharma work, ideally in sales, marketing, business insights or commercial excellence.
  • Experience in consulting roles, either in pharma or at a vendor or consultancy, in business insights, market research or similar.
  • Experience applying methods to generate commercial insights, including secondary data.
  • Strong knowledge of the pharma industry and its core processes is essential. Existing links to headquarter pharma clients are preferred.
  • Experience working with a range of pharma functions, ideally across everything from early-stage assessment to mature products.
  • Business development and sales experience, and a confident external communicator.
  • Strong communication and networking skills, excellent internal collaboration across countries, sensitivity to internal sales needs, and experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Solid skills in client delivery, project management and leadership, with several years of project work in pharma and other healthcare sectors.
  • An entrepreneurial, driven approach with a willingness to take risks, plus long-term strategic thinking about account development.
  • Hands-on, with strong issue-based and conceptual thinking and a drive to innovate.
  • Alongside running engagements, a deep understanding of pharma as an industry, its trends and challenges, major therapeutic areas, and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills and strong business development ability.
  • Optional: experience managing sales-focused or business development teams.

Conditions

The base pay range is $140,200.00 to $390,600.00 per year. Actual pay depends on factors such as qualifications, skills, education, experience, location and whether the role is full or part time.
