Principal Software Engineer

Description

You would join a UK team that builds technology solutions for customers and helps shape what comes next.

The team works on hard problems, and the company's services depend on the infrastructure you would help design and run.

Responsibilities

• Own deliverables across several teams and work with technical leads to plan a route that meets customer needs.
• Act as the main technical contact for your area on behalf of the company.
• Work with senior people at partner organisations and customers, often acting as the link between them.
• Coach engineers to build their skills and support the growth of the wider team.
• Help produce sound technical designs, build work, and delivery plans.

Requirements

• Experience as a software engineer, with strong skills in one or more of backend (Java Spring Boot, Maven, Python) or frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, npm).
• A proven record of designing, building and deploying scalable backend systems.
• Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and containerisation, including Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker and AWS.
• Clear communication, teamwork and problem-solving, ideally in an agile setting.

• You must be a British National to hold this clearance type.
• You must currently hold the highest level of UK Government security clearance.
