Principal Software Architect

The role is a principal architect position, a hands-on individual contributor role that shapes the application and platform architecture and delivers production-ready systems for the next generation of intelligent, distributed software testing.

The interview process includes several conversations with team members and typically takes 3-4 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy scalable, production-grade services across the core platform.
• Write clear architecture standards and reference patterns that set domain boundaries and break the current codebase into modular services.
• Work with the Director of Engineering to consolidate the frontend frameworks, improving performance and observability.
• Design with security, cost efficiency and ISO 27001 expectations at the center.
• Build secure AI/LLM patterns into customer-facing surfaces, defining strict operational guardrails and failure modes for the Quality API.
• Advise executive, product and engineering teams on major technical tradeoffs, turning business needs into sound technical strategy.

Requirements

• 15+ years of hands-on experience building cloud-native, business-critical software platforms.
• Deep knowledge of distributed system patterns, data modeling, event-driven design and both relational and NoSQL databases.
• A proven record of moving application infrastructure from monolithic architectures to modular services.
• Strong experience setting enterprise patterns on AWS, with focus on high availability, cost optimization and secure infrastructure.
• Working familiarity with modern full-stack environments, including frontend web frameworks, scripting languages and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience running AI/ML or LLM solutions in production, with observable, safe automation.
• Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication, especially when presenting complex architecture to business leaders.
• Able to work as an individual contributor in fast-paced, ambiguous settings and take proactive ownership of problems.
• Able to guide distributed engineering teams and technical peers without formal authority.
• Strong analytical thinking that balances a long-term technology vision with short-term implementation limits.
• Comfortable with remote-first work, documenting and communicating technical decisions asynchronously across global time zones.

Conditions
