Principal Product Security Response Engineer - AI and Automation

Description

The role sits in engineering and centres on designing, building, troubleshooting and debugging software for upgrades and new products, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and internet tools. It can also shape hardware compatibility or hardware design.

Responsibilities

• Define architectures and methods for software design and development that apply across several platforms and organisations in the Global Business Unit.
• Assess new technologies, innovations and outsourced development partners against the technology roadmap and business value, and plan how to bring them into the architecture.
• Review designs and project work against development guidelines and standards, and give concrete feedback that raises product quality and lowers the risk of failure.
• Use your domain expertise, business judgement and experience to shape decisions made by executive leaders, outsourced development partners and industry standards groups.
• Guide and mentor less experienced engineers, showing strong software design and development practice.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems or an equivalent field.
• Typically 10+ years of experience.
• Experience designing and developing software design tools and languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with the overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.
• Experience designing and integrating software that runs on several platform types into an overall architecture.
• Experience choosing methods and processes for software testing, including writing and running test plans, debugging, and writing test scripts and tools.
• A record of innovation, with several patents or deployed solutions in software design.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, with mastery of English and the local language.
• Ability to explain product architectures and design proposals, and to negotiate options with business unit and executive leaders.

Conditions

The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week in an HPE office.

The expected base salary is USD 157,000 to 361,000 per year for this position in Texas, USA. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, education, training and/or skill level.
