Network Security Engineer

Description

The team is hiring a Network Security Engineer to help secure and maintain the company's network infrastructure, a role with a direct impact on security.

The ideal candidate has hands-on work with at least one major security vendor (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco) in a globally distributed enterprise network.

Responsibilities

• Run and upkeep network security platforms built on Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco products.
• Set up, keep running, and fix firewalls, VPNs, IPS, and other security appliances.
• Watch network activity, study threats, and act quickly when security incidents occur.
• Write and apply security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Carry out security risk assessments and propose fixes for weak points.
• Set up and troubleshoot routing protocols as part of security design and tuning.
• Diagnose network problems, including packet capture and deep analysis with Wireshark and other diagnostic tools.
• Work with IT teams so security tools fit smoothly into the network.
• Keep current on new cyber threats and industry practice.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with at least one of Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco security solutions in a globally distributed enterprise network.
• Solid grasp of firewall policies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Practical experience troubleshooting networks, capturing packets, and analysing them in depth with Wireshark.
• Experience with network protocols, routing, and switching, plus awareness of security frameworks.
• Experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM, and incident response procedures.
• Vendor certifications from Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco are highly desirable.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Nice to have: exposure to cloud security, preferably Azure, and to hybrid environments.
• Nice to have: familiarity with automation and orchestration tools for security operations.
• Nice to have: scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Nice to have: strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Desirable but not mandatory: Microsoft Azure certifications AZ-104 and AZ-700.
