Description

The role sits within Information Security at the company and works across all its business lines. The architect sets the baseline for security reference architectures and solutions in their area, and develops and mentors engineers across IT through training, mentoring and quality assurance.

You design and plan security solutions for highly complex problems that support the company's critical goals. You advise departmental and organisation leaders, guide other staff, explain system designs to end users and senior leaders, and manage mid to large scale projects.

You build close, trusted advisory relationships with senior leaders in IT and across the business. Working with them, you produce solutions, programmes and project plans, manage risks and issues, lead delivery and improve infrastructure and platforms.

The company is a global player in the semiconductor industry, where security is an essential part of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Set and oversee the technical direction and architectural vision for security infrastructure, keeping it aligned with strategic goals and digital transformation.
  • Turn business leaders' vision into workable security implementations, and flag initiatives that are misaligned or use cases that are not practical.
  • Contribute to building a TOGAF-based security framework that supports deploying, evaluating and managing infrastructure across the company.
  • Choose security technologies from existing and potential options, weighing deployment models and integration with current solutions.
  • Design security architecture frameworks for complex integrated infrastructure, applying them to the current system structure and technology constraints to get the most value for the organisation.
  • Lead technical discussions and solutions for security infrastructure, covering infrastructure requirements, system integration points and interfaces, re-engineering issues, and application design and implementation approaches.
  • Manage complex, high-risk initiatives and projects, and lead the teams or client areas assigned to them.
  • Maintain a prioritised security roadmap, produce work estimates and make sure delivery supports strategic planning and the company's goals.
  • Lead improvement teams and projects in security infrastructure, and develop and deliver training in your area of expertise.
  • Continually assess and research new security technologies.
  • Work with enterprise, application, security, data and DevOps architects, network, server, cloud and storage engineers, and business teams to pilot use cases and review architectural designs.
  • Gather input from multiple stakeholders so technical implementation matches current and future requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with top decision makers, legal and other business units.
  • Own the architecture and design of secure infrastructure solutions.
  • Audit implementations and practices across server, storage, network and cloud, with a focus on continuous improvement and feedback.
  • Help IT product managers and business stakeholders understand what security standards can and cannot do when planning new deployments.
  • Break down client problems and apply current thinking on technology, analytics methods, tools and operating models.
  • Research technical solutions for scaling secure IT infrastructure to real-world problems, weighing quality, scalability, performance and cost.
  • Build tools and capabilities for data ingestion, feature engineering, data management and organisation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, data science or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience with Common Criteria certification programmes (ISO/IEC 15408).
  • 8+ years of experience leading a cross-functional team, onshore and offshore.
  • 8+ years of experience gathering non-functional requirements, designing and validating application architecture frameworks, and carrying out functional and testing work.
  • 8+ years of experience turning security requirements into design documents fit for clients.
  • 8+ years of experience in security analysis, design and delivery for application architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a demanding pace of work.
  • Preferred: certifications in security, networking, systems or storage, such as Cisco CCIE, TOGAF, Zachman, NetApp NCIE, VMware VCP, Palo Alto PCNSE, SSEE or AWS Certified Architect.
  • Preferred: certifications in PMP, ITIL or other project or domain-specific areas.
  • Preferred: security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, OWASP or others.
