Description

This is a principal product manager role that owns how Security is packaged, priced, and sold on Serverless, the cloud offering that runs on the company's platform.

Demand for SIEM, endpoint, and cloud security on Serverless is rising, and the pricing model will decide whether that growth pays off. The Platform team owns the architecture, and you will own the security solution layer on top of it.

The company is redesigning its pricing and packaging, and you will help shape the new model. You will recommend pricing, and the senior executive team makes the final decision.

You will work across Product, Finance, Engineering, Sales, and Product Marketing, and you will explain pricing choices to CISOs, CFOs, and field sellers.

Responsibilities

  • Redesign how Security is packaged and priced on Serverless: define tiers, feature entitlements, and usage meters, decide what is bundled, metered, or sold as an add-on, test options against customer demand and cost of goods, and bring a recommendation to the senior executive team.
  • Own margin by working with the Platform team and Finance to model costs for new security capabilities such as ingest, search, retention, endpoint, and AI features, and set pricing requirements before each feature ships.
  • Drive Security growth on Serverless from proof of concept through renewal, covering new workloads, migrations from hosted and self-managed deployments, expansion, and retention. With Finance, separate recurring revenue from one-time proof-of-concept revenue.
  • Define how search configurations, data tiers, and retention work for security use cases, and build the cost models that justify new platform controls that let customers manage cost and performance. Keep tenant-level packaging consistent with the MSSP and multi-tenancy product manager.
  • Define a measure of simplicity, such as time to a credible quote, and track it.
  • Write PRDs and PRFAQs, and lead delivery across Security engineering, the Serverless Platform team, Billing and Metering, and Cloud Operations. Build the frameworks and reviews that other Security PMs, Product Marketing, and Solutions Architects use to price new capabilities.
  • Talk with customers and prospects about what they will and will not pay for, track how other security platforms package and price, and help the field explain when Serverless, hosted, or self-managed is the right fit.
  • Know the main approaches to pricing AI features, including token-based, credit-based, and per-action or outcome pricing, and how inference cost and unpredictable usage affect each.

Requirements

  • You have led pricing and packaging for a SaaS or cloud product from end to end: option design, customer testing, margin modeling, and executive approval. You can point to a result in revenue, margin, or adoption.
  • You have experience with usage-based or consumption pricing.
  • You have experience simplifying a pricing model that had grown too complex.
  • You have 7 to 10 years in product management, including substantial time on security or cloud data products.
  • You are comfortable with COGS, gross margin, and ARR modeling, and you can build a forecast with Finance directly.
  • You understand how multi-tenant cloud services are built and how architecture drives cost, well enough to read a technical design.
  • You lead through influence in a matrixed, remote-first company, help teams reach decisions, work well asynchronously, and shift priorities when the business changes.
  • You can present pricing to a CISO and a procurement team, and you have supported deals as the product expert.
  • You write PRDs, pricing proposals, and executive summaries that people act on. You use AI tools to improve pricing analysis and cost modeling, and you own the results.
  • Plus: product experience with SIEM, XDR, endpoint, cloud security, or a security operations platform.
  • Plus: a background as a SOC analyst, detection engineer, or security architect.
  • Plus: experience at a security vendor, a cloud data platform, or a company that moved customers from licensed to consumption pricing.
  • If your pricing work was on another cloud or data product, the team will help you learn the security side.

Conditions

Compensation is base salary only, with no variable component. The company says the role is eligible for its stock program.

Typical starting base salary range is $154,000 to $243,600 CAD. Placement in the range depends on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. The company may pay more or less than this range and may change it later.

The company is distributed, and the role allows flexible locations and schedules for many positions.

Export controls apply: an export license may be required as a condition of employment for people located in or who are nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Russia, including the annexed Ukrainian regions of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. National origin or nationality does not affect eligibility for employment.

The company welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and provides equal opportunity.
