Travel is expected for about 10% of the time.

The company builds technology-enabled change for its customers in the Defence and National Security sectors, and the role sits within growing delivery teams.

You will work across the full path of a change, from early concept through to delivery, with Product Owners, delivery teams, customers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Find out what customers and stakeholders need, including their business problems, user needs and strategic goals, and turn these into requirements that are clear and can be acted on.
  • Run workshops, planning sessions and collaborative meetings that build agreement, surface opportunities and help work reach good outcomes.
  • Help agile delivery teams by refining work, keeping product backlogs in order and working with Product Owners on what gets delivered first.
  • Examine business processes, operating models, organisational structures and technology landscapes to find improvements and recommend solutions.
  • Write business cases, requirements documents and recommendations backed by evidence, so decision-makers can act with confidence.
  • Check that delivered solutions meet user needs, produce the expected business benefits and stay aligned with organisational objectives throughout the change.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business analysis within complex delivery environments, ideally on software, engineering, defence or national security programmes.
  • Experience working in agile delivery teams, including eliciting requirements, refining backlogs and writing user stories.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and communicate clearly at every level.
  • Experience using systems thinking to understand organisational challenges and produce practical recommendations focused on outcomes.
  • Knowledge of business analysis techniques, requirements management and the principles of organisational change.
  • Experience with collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, GitLab and Confluence.
  • Desirable: experience within Defence or National Security environments.
  • Desirable: knowledge of relevant legislation, governance frameworks or regulatory requirements.
  • Desirable: business change experience, including benefits realisation, business readiness and adoption activities.
  • Desirable: experience mentoring junior Business Analysts and helping to build capability in others.
  • Candidates who do not meet every requirement are still encouraged to apply if they are keen on the role and believe they can contribute well.

Conditions

You must hold and maintain the highest level of UK Government Security Clearance.

The company is a major contributor to technology-driven work for its customers, and this role is based in the UK.

The company welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Benefits

  • Flexible working, including hybrid arrangements.
  • A compressed fortnight pattern, with every other Friday off.
  • Private medical insurance, dental cover, life assurance and a pension.
  • A flexible benefits package that includes critical illness cover and a health cash plan.
  • A holiday buy and sell scheme.
  • An annual performance incentive programme.
  • Professional development, training and career progression opportunities.
  • Backing for professional memberships and certifications.
  • Chances to join employee networks, STEM outreach and community programmes.
