Your work directly affects how reliably the company's products reach customers.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain build scripts that compile, package and deploy Java applications.
  • Build and run CI/CD pipelines so code is built, tested and deployed often and reliably.
  • Keep improving the build and deployment process for speed, efficiency and stability.
  • Add automated tests and quality checks to the build so problems surface early.
  • Manage software dependencies so environments stay consistent.
  • Diagnose and fix failures in the build, test and deployment stages.
  • Containerize applications with tools such as Docker so they deploy the same way everywhere.
  • Work with software developers and QA engineers so features integrate and ship smoothly.

Requirements

  • Strong Java skills and familiarity with the Java ecosystem.
  • Deep knowledge of build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
  • Expert-level use of version control, especially Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on work with containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Scripting skills in languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum and tools such as JIRA.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 7 years as a Release Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience with Agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Strong Java knowledge, including Core Java, Java EE and related technologies.
  • Scripting in Bash, Python and Groovy for automation.
  • Extensive experience with build automation tools such as Maven, Gradle and Ant.
  • Expertise with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience managing cloud services and infrastructure on AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform or Chef.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and experience with RESTful APIs, which is increasingly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills for debugging complex issues.
  • Careful attention to detail, since configuration and scripting errors can affect the whole release.
  • Ability to work well with development, QA and operations teams.
  • Willingness to keep learning as DevOps tools change quickly.
  • A proactive habit of finding ways to automate and streamline work.
