Platform Engineer/Architect, SME

Description

The company supports the DoD and other intelligence agencies worldwide and builds mission-critical national security systems for warfighters, DoD leadership, and the country.

The team is hiring a senior Platform Engineer and Architect, Subject Matter Expert, to lead platform engineering, systems architecture, and Tier 3 technical support for the DFAS Common Computing Environment (CCE) JWICS classified enclave.

The work centers on modernizing infrastructure, carrying out system deployments, running technical design reviews, and keeping enterprise platforms secure and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Give senior-level platform engineering support to the DFAS CCE JWICS classified enclave.
• Work CCE priority Tier 3 DFASNow support tickets so that 95% are handled in priority order.
• Provide inputs to the CCE Change Control Board (CCB) on time 95% of the time.
• Lead Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and Technical Review Boards (TRB), delivering on time 95% of the time.
• Engineer, build, and document new IT solutions for CCE infrastructure.
• Write detailed design documentation for critical design reviews.
• Monitor CCE deployments so that 100% are under monitoring.
• Keep engineering network configuration documentation up to date.
• Help develop and run COOP and disaster recovery plan exercises.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for production issues that arise outside core hours.

Requirements

• Bring more than 10 years of enterprise systems architecture experience.
• Be an expert in Windows Server administration, with AZ-801 and AZ-802 certification.
• Be an expert in security architecture, with CISSP certification or an equivalent.
• Have experience working in JWICS classified network environments.
• Be proficient in SQL, SCOM, MECM, virtualization (VMware or Nutanix), and directory services.
• Have experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Know Microsoft and Linux enterprise technologies.
• Have experience designing Azure cloud architectures.
• Have demonstrated ability to engineer Zero Trust Network Architecture solutions.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Hold an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and be a United States citizen to be considered for this role.
• Preferred: Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• Preferred: VMware VCP or an equivalent virtualization certification.
• Preferred: experience with DFAS financial systems infrastructure.
• Preferred: prior JWICS system administration experience.
• Preferred: experience with DoD data center consolidation or optimization.
• Preferred: knowledge of DISA STIGs and security hardening.
• Preferred: Red Hat or other Linux enterprise certifications.
