Platform Engineer/Architect, SME

Description

The company supports DoD and other intelligence agencies worldwide with fast-growing work on mission-critical national security systems.

The team is hiring a senior Platform Engineer/Architect, SME to handle platform engineering, infrastructure modernization, and Tier 3 technical support for the DFAS Common Computing Environment (CCE) NIPRNet unclassified enclave. The focus is cloud migration, hybrid infrastructure, Zero Trust architecture, technology planning, and DoD cybersecurity compliance.

Responsibilities

• Give senior-level platform engineering support for the DFAS CCE NIPRNet unclassified enclave.
• Work Tier 3 DFASNow support tickets in CCE priority order, keeping 95% worked-by-priority compliance.
• Provide inputs to the CCE Change Control Board (CCB), with 95% delivered on time.
• Lead technology planning and produce the ITI 5-Year Roadmap & Architecture within 60 days of award, then update it annually.
• Engineer solutions for moving CCE to DoD certified cloud solutions and hybrid environments.
• Assess CCE infrastructure for cost reduction, better service, and added capability.
• Rebuild CCE infrastructure to fit next generation architecture protocols and Zero Trust Network Architecture.
• Carry out tuning work with 90% on-schedule compliance.
• Support IPv6 processing with 100% validation compliance.

Requirements

• Have 10+ years of enterprise systems architecture experience.
• Hold AZ-801 and AZ-802 certification and work at expert level in Windows Server administration.
• Hold CISSP certification and work at expert level in security architecture.
• Have experience working in NIPRNet unclassified network environments.
• Be proficient in SQL, SCOM, MECM, virtualization (VMware or Nutanix), and directory services.
• Have experience with Azure cloud migration and hybrid environments.
• Know IPv6 implementation and transition.
• Have built technology roadmaps and architecture documentation.
• Have demonstrated implementing Zero Trust Network Architecture.
• Optional: Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• Optional: VMware VCP or an equivalent virtualization certification.
• Optional: Experience with DFAS financial systems infrastructure.
• Optional: Prior DoD cloud migration experience.
• Optional: FedRAMP or FISMA compliance experience.
• Optional: Knowledge of DISA STIGs and security hardening.
• Optional: Experience with emerging technologies such as AI/ML and automation.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Hold Microsoft Azure AZ-801 and AZ-802, plus CISSP or an equivalent certification.
• Hold an active Secret security clearance.
• Keep whatever security clearance or certifications the client, FEDITC, or the prime contractor requires.
