Description

STR is seeking a Operational Security Analyst to join a new group focused on the complex test and evaluation challenges that exist in the modern world.

You will help build and guide an expert team capable of planning, executing, analyzing, and delivering decision-quality results at the speed the Department of War (DoW) requires to field advancements that continue to outpace our adversaries. STR's approach will emphasize product-based delivery of test solutions through an experienced, trusted team that can rapidly adapt to evolving customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, author, and maintain specialized Operations Security (OPSEC) guidance, procedures, and supporting products tailored to complex test and evaluation activities and evolving customer requirements.
  • Directly support complex test initiatives throughout planning, coordination, and execution, developing OPSEC strategies and products that address mission-specific security considerations and operational risks.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to identify essential secrets and sensitive mission information requiring protection throughout developmental and operational test activities.
  • Identify and assess critical information and associated indicators that could expose sensitive capabilities, operational intentions, or test objectives to potential adversaries.
  • Conduct intelligence-informed vulnerability analyses to identify potential OPSEC weaknesses, evaluate adversary collection opportunities, and develop initial risk assessments to inform test planning and execution.
  • Develop and recommend OPSEC mitigation strategies to reduce identified vulnerabilities and risks, including evaluating mitigation effectiveness and providing updated residual risk assessments.
  • Establish and support an OPSEC assessment program within the group, developing Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) to assess the implementation and effectiveness of OPSEC mitigations throughout test campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience; Master's degree; or equivalent experience in Operations Security (OPSEC), intelligence analysis, intelligence operations, test and evaluation, or a related field.
  • This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility to support Special Access Programs (SAP), for which U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Operations Security (OPSEC) principles and methodologies, preferably within test and evaluation or operationally focused environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Military Deception (MILDEC) fundamentals and their relationship to OPSEC planning, risk mitigation, and operational security objectives.
  • Strong proficiency in intelligence functions and analytical techniques, ensuring intelligence-informed approaches complement and strengthen OPSEC strategies and implementation.
  • Experience preparing and delivering technical and operational security briefings to government customers, senior management, and decision-makers, with the ability to translate mission requirements into actionable OPSEC solutions.
  • Familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) test and evaluation community and major western test ranges, including the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), and Point Mugu Sea Range (PMSR).
  • Nice to haves:
  • Completion of formal training or certification courses focused on Operations Security (OPSEC) fundamentals, methodologies, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience applying OPSEC training and methodologies to support DoD test and evaluation initiatives, including the development and implementation of security strategies and risk mitigation measures.
  • Ability to perform complementary intelligence functions during high-demand operational or test environments to support effective OPSEC implementation and meet evolving customer requirements.
