Description

Integrated systems support national security by giving decision makers a view of the operating environment and enabling strategic planning and tactical execution. The reliability and performance of these systems can shape how conflicts unfold.

The Systems Development Division builds advanced technology that gives an edge in the information domain. The division handles each solution end to end, from early concept and architecture through implementation and deployment, and uses new technologies to produce first-of-its-kind systems. Current work covers airborne and space RF sensors and multi-function, multi-modal operations.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and test C++ software for complex embedded radar systems, with a main focus on Air-to-Air applications.

Responsibilities

  • Turn system and software requirements into designs that meet architectural limits and open architecture rules
  • Write robust, high-quality C++ for mission-critical real-time systems that must be highly reliable and available
  • Build test frameworks that confirm the C++ software works correctly and performs as required
  • Apply DevSecOps practices and help improve them over time
  • Review requirements, architecture, code, and test plans with peers
  • Write documentation for software designs and interfaces
  • Create analysis tools
  • Find the root cause of software defects and fix them

Requirements

  • You must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship under U.S. Government rules
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong C++14 skills and solid software engineering practice, including multi-threading, memory management, and performance tuning
  • Experience integrating with larger software systems, including unit and system-level testing
  • Working knowledge of GitLab, CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks, and code quality tools
  • You adapt readily to new programming languages, third-party frameworks, and emerging technologies
  • Even Better: An active security clearance
  • Even Better: Familiarity with signal processing or mathematical modeling
  • Even Better: Experience with GPU software development
  • Even Better: Experience with RDMA
  • Even Better: Experience with C++17 or later
  • Even Better: Familiarity with radar concepts
  • Even Better: Familiarity with integrated systems that combine software and hardware to interact with the physical world
  • Even Better: Experience developing, optimizing, and converting MATLAB algorithms into efficient C++
  • Even Better: An advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • Even Better: Knowledge of automation frameworks and tools that streamline repetitive work and manage complex workflows
  • Even Better: Domain expertise in one or more of: electronic warfare, antenna apertures, sensor resource management, large-scale platform test systems, cyber physical systems, or open system architectures
