Description

The company works across manufacturing, engineering, cybersecurity and space, and its people build and run systems that communities rely on every day.

The Air Mobility Solutions team builds air management systems used for safe aircraft movement. Its products cover about 40% of the world's airspace and support take-off and landing for roughly 2 in 3 aircraft globally.

The team works on complex systems that extend air traffic management, including drone technology, and offers room to grow into senior technical or team leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Help deliver the national air traffic management system being rolled out across Australia.
  • Work at civil and defence sites across the country to integrate complex software and hardware, run tests and validation, and fix technical problems so the system performs reliably.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams on a nationally significant program where reliability, performance and precision matter in live operational settings.
  • Install, configure and validate the company's operating systems and subsystems on site.
  • Integrate 6-8 subsystems into the company's environments.
  • Carry out integration testing, performance assessments and security checks.
  • Troubleshoot Linux/Unix, Windows and virtualised environments.
  • Use Wireshark, Zabbix and Python or Shell scripts for diagnostics.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot racks, switches and servers on site.
  • Automate deployments and system administration tasks with Ansible, Jenkins, Python and CI/CD pipelines, using Git and Ansible playbooks.
  • Automate test and measurement tools.
  • Validate company-built operating systems and subsystems before handing them to validation teams.
  • Work with hardware, validation, network, cybersecurity and DevOps teams, plus remote support, to resolve issues and confirm system readiness.
  • Make sure work meets functional, performance, security and robustness requirements.
  • Write integration test reports, risk assessments and knowledge-sharing documents.
  • Follow the company's OHSE policies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or IT, or relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years in similar roles integrating complex, software-centric real-time systems.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot virtualisation platforms and operating systems, with Linux/Unix skills (VMware, SNMP, rsyslog) and Windows administration.
  • Scripting in Python or Shell and automation with Ansible and Jenkins.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP) and debugging tools.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps and automation tools including Ansible, Jenkins and Confluence.
  • Experience with C++, Java or Go.
  • Willingness to try AI use cases.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven automation is highly regarded.
  • A problem-solving approach and comfort in dynamic, on-site settings.
  • Clear communication, able to explain technical issues to varied stakeholders.
  • Good teamwork across global teams, with a curious and accountable attitude.
  • You will need to be ready to travel domestically, as this is mandatory for the role.
  • Day one expectations: you should already bring these skills, experience and behaviours.

Conditions

Permanent full-time role with regular domestic travel across Australia to deploy and integrate subsystems at customer sites.

A Defence security clearance is required. Applicants must be Australian citizens and able to obtain and keep an appropriate clearance.

Some people who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may have it recognised by the Australian Government and may be eligible for this role. Details are on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.

The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act applies, so your nationality may affect your suitability for this role.

The company supports a diverse workplace and welcomes applicants regardless of background or personal circumstances.
