AI Developer Engineer

Description

The role centres on a coherent AI ecosystem built around the company's existing Design System, covering integrations, developer tools, and documentation.

The work focuses on AI capabilities that help developers discover, understand, and use Design System components and resources.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrations that use the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Create MCP servers and tools that give AI assistants access to Design System resources, documentation, components, and development capabilities.
• Look into where AI can fit into Design System workflows, documentation, and developer tooling.
• Find ways AI can help developers find, learn about, and use components and resources more easily.
• Write reusable AI skills, prompt templates, and structured workflows for routine development tasks.
• Package these capabilities as modular, documented assets that other teams can share.
• Reduce repetitive work and make technical knowledge easier to reach, so developers can be more productive.
• Produce documentation, examples, templates, and guidelines that drive adoption and collect internal feedback.

Requirements

• A strong software engineering background with real hands-on development experience.
• Practical knowledge of MCP, including building or connecting servers, tools, or clients.
• Experience designing reusable prompts, AI skills, agent instructions, or AI-powered workflows.
• Experience bringing AI into software development processes or developer tooling.
• Ability to package technical work into reusable, documented solutions that other developers can adopt easily.
• Understanding of API integrations, software architecture, modular design, and maintainable code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn new AI technology into practical engineering solutions.
• Valorable: experience with AI coding assistants and agent-based development workflows.
• Valorable: familiarity with LLM APIs, tool calling, structured outputs, and context management.
• Valorable: experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and modern web development ecosystems.
• Valorable: experience with developer platforms, CLI tools, internal tooling, or automation.
• Valorable: familiarity with design systems, component libraries, UI frameworks, and technical documentation.
• Valorable: experience with automated testing, evaluation, and quality assurance for AI-powered solutions.
• Valorable: understanding of AI security, permissions, privacy, and governance.
• English is required.
