NX CAM Software Development Engineer

This role sits in the Corporate IT Group and reports to the Head of the IT Section. You will be the team's main technical expert for in-house coding of NX post-processors, and you will also lead post-related training and purchasing work.

The role supports manufacturing across every business unit in the company's worldwide locations, and the company is growing that manufacturing base.

Responsibilities

• Take post-processor requests from users across the company and deliver working software within project deadlines.
• Work on post projects that run through Enterprise IT, helping plan the service roadmap, produce reports, manage demand, and drive ongoing improvements.
• Help run Enterprise IT processes for ordering and delivering post-processors, and set and enforce technical standards such as integration methods and code structure.
• Build and run training for other engineers who develop posts.
• Support internal customers across the full post lifecycle, from development and purchasing through delivery and ongoing upkeep.
• Answer users' NX CAM questions, resolve their issues, and help shape company-wide CAM configurations.
• Work with peer leaders in the Enterprise IT Applications organization to improve IT services across the company.
• Help build the skills and capacity the organization needs to sustain this work over the long term.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, an engineering discipline, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be accepted in place of the degree.
• Proven ability and experience building software solutions.
• Experience with at least two of the following: TCL, NX Open, Python, G-Code (ISO 6983), or similar languages.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git, Subversion, or similar.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a record of communicating at every level of an organization and delivering excellent customer service.
• Helpful but not required: experience using Post Builder or Post Configurator to create and maintain NX post-processors.
• Helpful but not required: experience with NX CAD and/or Siemens Teamcenter.

Conditions

Full-time, on-site at the East Aurora, NY office, with domestic and international travel of up to 25%.

Based in Buffalo, NY, with a base salary of $85,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year.

The base salary range shows the low and high end of the company's range for this role in this location. Actual pay depends on factors such as location, experience, and performance. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

The role also requires access to data subject to U.S. government citizenship restrictions.
