Description

The company has spent more than 25 years working on computer graphics, PC gaming and accelerated computing, and is now applying AI to the next generation of computing, where its GPUs serve as the brains of computers, robots and self-driving cars.

The Network Automation & Intelligence Platforms team is hiring a Network Software Engineer, Automation & Intelligence to build and run network automation across corporate offices, campuses, HPC data centers, contract manufacturing sites and labs, using the company's global infrastructure to extend what AI and network automation can do.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automation for new builds and bring-ups, covering zero-touch provisioning, config generation and validation, then hand off to operations.
  • Run live networks with automated change execution, health checks, drift detection and incident triage, catching problems before they affect service levels.
  • Help build the platform underneath automation, including the source of truth, CI/CD pipelines, orchestration and observability integrations.
  • Build LLM and agent-based network tools that start as read-only investigation and gradually take on autonomous, self-validating changes as each change type is shown to be safe, with rollback, scoped boundaries and full audit trails.
  • Work with network, compute, storage and facilities teams to turn operational pain points into reliable, reusable software.
  • Document, mentor and help engineers outside the core team build their own automation.

Requirements

  • An MS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years in network engineering or network software, including both build work and production operations.
  • Hands-on network automation with Python, Ansible, REST, gNMI or NETCONF APIs, and Git-based workflows.
  • A solid grasp of routing, switching and network architecture, including BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN and MLAG.
  • Experience in multi-vendor environments such as Arista, Cisco, Cumulus/the company and Palo Alto.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of running complex projects from start to finish.
  • Nice to have: experience building LLM or agent-based tools in operations with strong oversight (read-only limits, approval steps and audit logs), working knowledge of agent frameworks, MCP and RAG, and applying ML to telemetry or capacity analysis.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with incident and change platforms such as BigPanda and ServiceNow, and source-of-truth tools such as Nautobot and NetBox.
  • Nice to have: background in cybersecurity and network security practices.
  • Nice to have: experience with large-scale GPU or AI fabrics, InfiniBand, RoCE or other high-performance networks.
  • Nice to have: clear communication and a commitment to an inclusive, collaborative team culture.
