Description

The company treats space as a warfighting domain and builds the technology to secure it.

It builds autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors that help the U.S. and its Allies secure space and counter threats there.

The company is growing quickly, and the team works closely together.

As a Network Engineer, you will design, run, and improve the enterprise network behind engineering, manufacturing, and cloud-connected systems.

Your work covers complex on-prem topologies, hybrid cloud links, and secure network designs, with a focus on reliability, performance, and scale.

The network supports mission-critical infrastructure, so your work directly affects its stability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, segmentation, VPN, and firewalls.
  • Run and support Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Juniper switching and routing platforms, or equivalent vendor systems.
  • Build and maintain hybrid connections between on-prem environments and major cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Diagnose complex network problems, such as routing loops, BGP and OSPF behavior, latency, packet loss, and inter-VLAN connectivity.
  • Manage network performance, capacity planning, telemetry, and monitoring.
  • Apply network security practices, including segmentation and firewall rule hygiene.
  • Support CMMC-aligned compliance requirements, and help with environments where ITAR or FedRAMP considerations may apply (not a core part of the role).
  • Take part in an on-call rotation for critical network escalations.
  • Write up architectures, change plans, diagrams, and runbooks.
  • Work with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and cloud engineering teams in a fast-moving environment with high delivery pace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise-class environments.
  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, STP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls and with routing and switching.
  • Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-connected networks on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using packet captures, performance metrics, and logs.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, changing environment with shifting priorities.
  • Clear communication, strong documentation, and good collaboration across teams.
  • Availability to take part in an on-call rotation.
  • Preferred: experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Preferred: experience with Juniper routing and switching.
  • Helpful but not required: familiarity with CMMC, ITAR, or FedRAMP compliance environments.
  • Preferred: active or previously held TS/SCI clearance, but not required.
  • Preferred: experience with security-focused network architectures or compliance programs such as CMMC, ITAR, or FedRAMP.
  • Preferred: network automation or scripting skills, such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Preferred: relevant certifications such as PCNSE, JNCIS, JNCIP, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: experience with SD-WAN, multi-site networking, or data center architectures.
  • Preferred: experience in aerospace, defense, or high-security, compliance-heavy environments.
