Description

The team is hiring a hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager who keeps backend systems reliable, focused on networks, servers and cloud. You will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and work between strategy and daily delivery, with close work alongside the Modern Workplace team.

The role covers two backend areas: Systems, with a cloud-first approach, and Network Architecture.

The company works across EMEA and has a revenue of €1B. It operates in more than 20 EMEA countries and has over 10,000 staff in cloud, data and cyber security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach the team and drive delivery across Systems (cloud first) and Network Architecture.
  • Move legacy infrastructure to automated, software-defined environments on AWS, Azure or GCP, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Run and secure global corporate and cloud networks, including SD-WAN, SASE, VPNs and switches/routers, so every site stays connected.
  • Work with local IT teams across EMEA to align core technology stacks and shared infrastructure standards.
  • Keep critical backend systems at 99.9%+ availability and manage major Incident, Problem and Change processes for the infrastructure layer.
  • Manage the I&O budget, using FinOps methods to control cloud spend and improve backend hardware purchasing.
  • Build, test and update Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) plans for cloud and hybrid setups.
  • Work with the CISO to build DevSecOps security into core backend systems, keeping them aligned with GDPR, NIS2 and European compliance rules.

Requirements

  • You have 6-8+ years in IT infrastructure, including at least 3+ years managing specialised backend operations teams (network, cloud systems) in an international setting.
  • You have strong hands-on skills with Azure, AWS or GCP and with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • You understand modern enterprise networking, including SD-WAN, SASE, VPNs and firewalls.
  • You apply DevOps principles within ITIL v4 (ITIL v3 Foundation required).
  • You are practical and results-driven, and you push complex backend projects through to completion.
  • You have solid financial judgement and practical experience controlling cloud costs (FinOps) and backend procurement.
  • You speak and write English fluently.

Conditions

The company is an equal opportunity employer that promotes on merit and opposes discrimination. All roles are open to people with disabilities.
