DevSecOps Lead

Description

The company needs a DevSecOps Lead to oversee disciplined delivery of controlled CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, secure software delivery, technology refresh, and optional task work.

The role supports new biometric capabilities and increments while keeping configuration, cybersecurity, operational alignment, and risk under control.

All hires are expected to have experience with Microsoft Copilot or an approved equivalent AI tool.

This position is pending award and depends on contract award, customer approval, funding, and completion of the company's recruiting, security, and onboarding steps.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run DevSecOps work for mission application updates, cloud automation, infrastructure changes, and optional task increments.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, build and release controls, artifact management, security gates, and deployment workflows.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration with Infrastructure as Code so environments are repeatable, auditable, and compliant.
• Work with government stakeholders, cybersecurity, developers, infrastructure engineers, and operations staff to set modernization priorities and manage release risk, dependencies, and transition readiness.
• Work with cybersecurity teams to build SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC policy checks, STIG validation, container scanning, and RMF evidence generation into delivery workflows.
• Support technology refresh, assessment of emerging biometric capabilities, roadmap delivery, and transition-to-operations acceptance.
• Keep configuration management, release governance, operational readiness, documentation, and rollback planning aligned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• At least 8 years in software delivery, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, or secure release management.
• At least 5 years leading teams through Agile or Scrum practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and release planning.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and secure deployment.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted applications, preferably AWS GovCloud, DoD IL5, cARMY, or a comparable secure federal cloud.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Argo CD, or equivalent tools.
• Working knowledge of secure software delivery, RMF-aware change control, vulnerability management, release governance, and operational readiness.
• DoD 8570 or 8140 aligned certification.
• Active Secret-level clearance.
• Desired: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, strongly preferred.
• Desired: CSSLP, preferred.
• Desired: experience with biometric systems, identity intelligence applications, AI or ML-enabled development, or high-availability mission operations, preferred.

Conditions

Pay range is $120,000 - $150,000 USD. This is a good-faith estimate, and the actual offer depends on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
