Description

The company's Data Science function needs someone to own and develop its end-to-end AI and model governance framework.

The role gives strategic direction so AI systems are built and deployed responsibly, balancing regulatory compliance, risk, innovation and business results.

You will work closely with technical, legal and product colleagues to make governance a working part of how the company uses AI.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end AI and model governance framework for the Data Science function, covering policy rollout and ongoing improvement.
  • Set standards for classifying model risk, approvals, documentation, monitoring and lifecycle management.
  • Plan the strategic roadmap for AI governance tools and processes.
  • Make sure the company meets relevant AI regulations and standards, including the EU AI Act, GDPR and emerging global requirements.
  • Work with Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Information Security to keep governance policies current.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for audits, regulators, customers and industry forums on AI governance.
  • Define governance metrics and reporting, oversee the model inventory, and measure how well governance works in practice.
  • Lead and grow the governance capability, and run training and awareness across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in AI or model governance, model risk management, data governance, compliance or a related risk field, including managing people.
  • Solid knowledge of AI governance regulations and frameworks such as the EU AI Act and ISO 42001, and how to apply them in practice.
  • Experience designing and running governance processes for AI and ML models in production.
  • Sound commercial judgment to weigh innovation, risk and business goals against each other.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication, with a record of influencing senior technical and business leaders.
  • A proven record of building scalable governance processes, driving continuous improvement and introducing automation.
  • Working knowledge of the AI and ML lifecycle: data sourcing, model development, validation, deployment and monitoring.

Conditions

The company supports a healthy work and life balance across the organisation.

Equal opportunity and accommodation support are available during hiring; contact the company if you need an adjustment.

Benefits

  • Wellbeing initiatives, shared parental leave, study assistance and sabbaticals.
  • Country-specific benefits are available for your location.
