Mendix Developer SME

Description

This is a full-time Information Technology role for a Mendix Developer SME on a team that supports federal customers.

The team builds enterprise applications on Mendix and connects them to SAP systems, and you would act as the subject matter expert within it.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build and delivery of enterprise applications on the Mendix low-code platform, known as SAP RAD by Mendix, in line with SAP BTP and enterprise architecture standards.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert and main authority on Mendix best practice, platform governance, reusable component libraries and development standards.
• Find and close functional and technical gaps between Mendix applications and SAP back-end systems such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP ERP, using OData and REST integrations to keep data and processes flowing.
• Work with business stakeholders, solution architects and SAP functional consultants to turn business needs into scalable Mendix solutions.
• Set up Mendix-to-SAP integration through SAP BTP, Cloud Connector and OData services, including correct trust configuration between cloud and on-premises environments.
• Coach junior and mid-level Mendix developers through code reviews, workshops and knowledge sharing.
• Support pre-sales work by scoping solutions, estimating effort and drafting technical proposals.
• Keep application quality high using CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and Mendix performance standards.
• Support configuration management and change control in line with federal security and program compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, with 3+ years on Mendix.
• Mendix Advanced Developer Certification.
• US citizen.
• Active Secret clearance.
• A proven record of closing gaps between Mendix applications and SAP back-end systems.
• Working knowledge of SAP integration patterns, including OData services, SAP BTP destinations and Cloud Connector configuration.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA or SAP BTP, enough to spot process or data gaps and propose Mendix-based extensions.
• Proficiency in Mendix Studio Pro, microflows, nanoflows, domain modeling and custom widget development.
• A strong grasp of REST and OData API integration with SAP systems.
• Experience with SAP BTP and cloud-native deployment, including BTP Cockpit and destination configuration.
• A solid understanding of Agile and Scrum.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices such as Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
• An understanding of federal IT security standards and the ability to work in controlled or classified environments.
• Preferred: Mendix Expert Developer Certification.
• Preferred: SAP BTP certification, or hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite or SAP Extension Suite.
• Preferred: Experience with Mendix Native Mobile development.
• Preferred: Background in enterprise architecture or solution design within SAP environments.
• Preferred: Exposure to SAP security concepts, including managing position-level clearance data in federal HR configurations.
• Preferred: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for client-facing federal work.
• Preferred: Prior consulting or professional services experience with an SAP partner, systems integrator or federal integrator.

Conditions

Full-time, regular position.

Minimum clearance required to start: Secret.

Travel of up to 10%, local.

The salary range is $75,200-$158,100.

Because the role can be based in more than one location, the range shown is the national average.

Final pay depends on factors including geographic location, federal contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant prior experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
