Description

The company is a media business with 64 television stations across 51 U.S. markets. Its local news and services reach more than 100 million people each month through web, mobile, streaming and linear TV.

The Marketing Lead is the main strategy partner to the Regional Marketing Director. This person runs marketing delivery across the centralized teams for Production, Paid Media, Social, CRM and Lifecycle, turns strategy into integrated campaign plans, manages the campaign calendar and serves as the daily marketing contact for station leaders across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Write a campaign brief for each initiative that turns the Regional Marketing Director's strategy into an integrated plan, covering objectives, audiences, key messages, channel mix and success measures, and get the Director's approval before work starts.
  • Manage the regional campaign calendar and delivery timeline so that every campaign is staffed, planned and launched on schedule and to specification.
  • Lead campaign development and execution across Production, Paid, Social, CRM, Lifecycle and other central teams.
  • Ask the Marketing Specialist to set up campaigns in monday.com, and check that each board has the correct owners, dates and deliverables.
  • Work with Production during creative development, sharing audience, brand and business context for concepts and scripts.
  • Make sure every campaign asset matches brand standards, carries the right message and is built to perform.
  • Set priorities across many concurrent campaigns, make trade-off decisions, and escalate strategic conflicts to the Regional Marketing Director.
  • Act as the everyday marketing partner for station general managers, news directors and content leaders in the region.
  • Keep station stakeholders informed about plans, status and results, set expectations, agree priorities and raise problems early.
  • Preserve the market knowledge that lets central teams act quickly and credibly in each market.
  • Define how campaigns will be measured, and track and report results against objectives to the Regional Marketing Director and station leadership.
  • Use audience data, ratings, digital analytics and market feedback to refine strategy, and turn performance trends into advice for future planning.
  • Set an example in campaign management, strategic thinking and stakeholder communication, and help lift the skill and consistency of the wider marketing team.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in marketing, integrated campaign management or brand strategy. Media, broadcast or fast-moving content backgrounds are strongly preferred.
  • A track record of running integrated campaigns across several markets, channels and stakeholder groups at once.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication. You can turn complex strategy into clear messages for stakeholders and creative briefs.
  • Solid skills in campaign planning, prioritization and project management, with experience in monday.com, Asana or a similar tool.
  • A history of coordinating paid media, social, CRM, content and other channels toward shared campaign goals.
  • Working knowledge of audience research, ratings, digital analytics and performance measurement, ideally in media or broadcast.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 news environment with shifting priorities, breaking news and tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to markets in the portfolio when needed.
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Conditions

The role involves a 24/7 news-driven schedule with fast-moving priorities and breaking news demands.

Travel to markets across the portfolio is required when needed.

Some roles are covered by a collective bargaining agreement, so some or all of the benefits below may not apply. For example, some newsroom bargaining unit employees receive health and retirement benefits through union-administered plans.

Benefits

  • Medical coverage with two plan options for full-time and part-time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, plus dental and eye care, fertility, surrogacy and adoption assistance, and disability and life insurance.
  • A 401(k) that lets full-time, part-time and temporary employees contribute 1% to 80% of pay pre-tax. The company matches 100% of the first 4% of pay, and those matched contributions vest immediately.
  • All employees and eligible family members get 9 free virtual doctor visits through Teladoc and 12 free therapy sessions a year with a licensed clinician through Spring Health, whether or not they enroll in a company medical plan.
  • Generous paid time off and 9 paid holidays each year.
