Lynn CNC Programmer Co-Op

Description

You will join the team as a co-op and work day to day alongside an experienced machinist, based in Lynn.

The role centres on hands-on CNC machining with a focus on lean practices and a clean, organized shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Run CNC mills, lathes, or both, under the guidance of the machinist.
• Work with castings, forgings, screw machine blanks, turret lathe blanks, sawed blanks, and bar stock.
• Prepare machines for work by changing chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, and reamers, and by setting tools.
• Follow lean manufacturing standards, including one-piece flow, standard work, 6S, set-up reduction, and wet process lines.
• Keep the work area safe and efficient by clearing chips from around machines, keeping coolant and machine fluids off the floor, and keeping the area organized to standard.

Requirements

• You are currently enrolled in a vocational technical high school and have reached at least the midpoint of junior year.
• You are currently enrolled in a machinist or manufacturing program.
• You have hands-on machining or manufacturing experience, or relevant coursework.
• You can lift, move, and handle fixtures and component hardware up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Desired: you have demonstrated experience with geometric tolerancing or have completed classes in it.
• Desired: you work well in a team and are willing to learn from others.
• Desired: you manage your time well and stay organized.
• Desired: you can work from written instructions and follow them precisely.
• Desired: you aim to meet or exceed job requirements.

Conditions

The pay is 18.33 per hour.

The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, based on a percentage of base salary or commission under the plan.
