Lead Software Engineer — Enterprise Applications

The company's banking technology group is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to build AI solutions for investment, corporate and commercial banking.

You will work in small agile squads that design, build and ship agentic and generative AI systems. The work is AI-first, starting with rapid prototypes and MVPs and moving through iterative releases to production-grade capabilities.

This is a hands-on role in the Applications Development job family, within the Technology group.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy scalable agentic and generative AI solutions for key business use cases, with attention to robustness, performance, security and reliability.
• Build and integrate agentic systems that use several model providers and platforms, such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google APIs.
• Create full-stack applications that run LLM-driven workflows and use AI coding tools such as Devin and GitHub Copilot.
• Deliver through an MVP-first approach with rapid iteration and ongoing experiments.
• Define metrics, evaluation methods and feedback loops that improve AI system performance and behavior over time.
• Prototype and integrate new agent-based, autonomous and generative AI technologies.
• Make sure AI solutions fit banking and financial services requirements, constraints and business goals.
• Contribute hands-on within cross-functional teams and give technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java with Spring Boot.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript with Angular or Node.js.
• Solid understanding of core AI concepts, including knowledge representation, planning and multi-agent systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, MCPs and agent frameworks such as Google ADK.
• Practical experience with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, NumPy and Pandas.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Devin, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Antigravity.
• Strong grounding in Git, CI/CD, testing, code reviews, agile delivery, application resiliency and security.
• Experience designing API-first, microservices-based and event-driven architectures, including data engineering patterns for AI systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Solid understanding of banking, financial services and regulated environments.
• 6, 10 years of progressive software engineering experience with a strong hands-on coding background.
• 2+ years focused on AI software development, LLM-based solutions, agentic systems and/or machine learning.
• Proven record of delivering enterprise-scale AI capabilities into production.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Robotics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Nice to have: full-stack experience, which the posting calls a plus.
• Nice to have: experience in data science, such as statistical modeling and experimentation.
• Nice to have: interest in mentoring junior AI engineers.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Primary location full-time salary range: $120,800.00 - $170,800.00.
