Description

The company makes a branch performance platform used by banks and credit unions. The platform combines appointment scheduling, in-branch queuing, video banking and branch workforce management, and turns customer interaction and operational data into insights across several lines of business. Over 200 banks and credit unions use it, including RBC, Mountain America Credit Union and M&T Bank.

This is a vacant contract role reporting to the Chief Product & Engineering Officer. You will set product vision and strategy for the company, and run a data-driven roadmap that drives company growth. You will have a highly visible role with a direct effect on growth.

The role covers the staff-facing products used by bankers and advisors, and how they connect to pre-meeting work for the end customer. You will also lead the product management practice, and take on pricing decisions with finance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead several core products in the suite used by bankers and advisors, working with Engineering so the platform supports pre-meeting activity.
  • Help shape the platform's AI direction, including tools that let financial institutions offer their own customers self-service or a way to start an interaction.
  • Identify and rank AI opportunities that improve customer and staff experiences. Work with Engineering, Design, Data, Security and customers to turn them into responsible, testable product work.
  • Build prototypes and customer experiments with AI to test desirability, usefulness and trust.
  • Work across business and technology teams to agree on goals and share insights.
  • Present product demos and updates to the company, and to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own the product roadmap, milestones, customer requirements, product metrics and epics. Share accountability with Engineering for OKRs.
  • Keep Engineering clear on customer needs and product direction for new development, maintenance, enhancements and feature retirement.
  • Make sure releases launch correctly and on time.
  • Meet customers regularly to learn their general needs and their Coconut-specific friction points. Check requirements and finished work with customers and customer success teams.
  • Speak for customers inside the company and manage feature requests.
  • Work with Product Marketing and Product Designers to choose problems that match company objectives. Stay current on the market, competitors, buying reasons and buying process. Help shape product positioning.
  • Work out development and product overhead costs and how they should affect pricing. Help set prices to meet revenue and profit goals.
  • Mentor Product Owners and other product team members, share knowledge, and help improve product management tools and internal processes.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product management experience. SaaS or banking experience is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration with Engineering and market-facing teams, including handling conflict, managing change and influencing without authority.
  • A technical background, such as APIs and integrations, ideally in scaling SaaS companies.
  • Experience working with technical teams on AI-enabled products. You understand LLMs, structured data, model limits, evaluation, privacy, security and usage costs. You do not need to be a data scientist or ML engineer, but you must ask sharp technical questions and make sound product trade-offs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. You can present to executives or the whole company.
  • A habit of growth through teaching or mentoring others.
  • Knowledge of design principles for mobile and web.
  • A record of defining and launching products that meet or beat business goals.
  • Experience managing several products at once within a portfolio strategy.
  • Strategic thinking with tactical execution. You look past individual products and releases to value streams and strategic levers.
  • Business sense, and the ability to use data to set and rank strategic goals.
  • Willingness to travel to customers or the head office from time to time, possibly up to once a quarter.

Conditions

Contract position. The expected hiring range is $130,000 to $170,000. The final offer depends on background, experience, skills and internal equity. Ranges may change over time. Top performers are reviewed annually under the Performance Acceleration program.

Flex-time and flex-days are available. You are expected to stay available and responsive on flex-days when customers need you.

The job works in a supported, flexible setting, with regular 1:1 coaching from your leader and access to the executive team.
