Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Application Delivery & Cloud Load Balancing

Description

You will own the architecture of enterprise load balancing and cloud application delivery across private and hybrid clouds.

This is a senior individual contributor role on the Application Delivery engineering team. You will lead through hands-on technical work, and your decisions will shape how reliable and scalable the company's cloud infrastructure is, which supports its global banking operations.

Responsibilities

• Create new load balancing products, including cloud application delivery services for private and hybrid clouds.
• Lead engineering certification of new operating systems and hardware with vendors, so they meet changing business needs.
• Build automation that provisions and integrates load balancers on the private and hybrid cloud platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift and Pivotal PCF deployments.
• Serve as the main engineering escalation point for critical infrastructure outages, running root cause analysis through to a fix.
• Work with cloud, platform, build and operations teams to make infrastructure more resilient and to expand software-defined networking.
• Turn business needs into engineering solutions by defining the system changes required for new product launches and process improvements.
• Coach junior engineers, give them technical direction, and set the strategic direction for the Application Delivery team.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of engineering experience, mainly in infrastructure, network engineering or application delivery.
• Expert-level skill with enterprise load balancers such as F5 BIG-IP and Citrix ADC, across setup, certification and day-to-day support.
• Hands-on experience designing and running load balancer and application delivery services in private and public clouds.
• Proven ability to build automation for infrastructure deployment and lifecycle management.
• Experience in large, complex or global technology environments, including financial services.
• Able to work independently across matrix engineering and architecture teams while handling competing priorities under pressure.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Beneficial: familiarity with cloud-ready network virtualization such as VMware NSX or an equivalent software-defined networking platform.
• Beneficial: experience with IaaS and PaaS environments, especially Red Hat OpenShift or Pivotal PCF.
• Beneficial: project management, including leading cross-functional infrastructure initiatives from design through delivery.
• Beneficial: master's degree in a relevant engineering or technology field.

Conditions

Full-time position based in Hungary.

Hybrid working model with up to 2 days a week working from home, in a business casual workplace.

Salary range: 17,157,800 Ft to 28,767,800 Ft.
