Description

You will help develop and improve desktop scanning electron microscopes as part of the expansion of the Brno Development Center.

Most of your time is hands-on: lab testing, verification, validation, troubleshooting and technical investigations, done alongside multidisciplinary engineers to learn how the product behaves, find root causes and make fixes.

The company builds these microscopes for materials science, manufacturing, research and quality assurance. Its products combine electron optics and vacuum technology, precision mechanics and mechatronics, embedded electronics, scientific software, image acquisition and analysis, and manufacturing automation and system integration.

You will work with experienced engineers from several technical disciplines on new scientific instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Run verification and validation tests on components, subsystems and complete SEM systems.
  • Design and carry out laboratory tests and engineering experiments.
  • Write test procedures, evaluate results and document your findings clearly.
  • Diagnose complex faults and lead structured root-cause investigations.
  • Propose corrective actions and product improvements based on what the investigations show.
  • Support engineering changes, product releases and new product introductions.
  • Work with the Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality and Service teams.
  • Take part in technical and design reviews.
  • Look for ways to raise product quality, improve test methods and refine engineering processes.
  • Share knowledge and good engineering practice across the Brno Development Center.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, physics or a closely related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing and engineering experiments.
  • Experience diagnosing complex technical systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to read test data and turn it into technical recommendations.
  • Clear technical writing and communication in English.
  • A practical, hands-on working style and a drive to understand how complex systems work.
  • Also an advantage: experience with SEM or other scientific instruments, verification and validation methods, mechatronic systems, vacuum technology, quality processes or supplier and component qualification.

Conditions

Standard Monday to Friday schedule.

Work takes place in a laboratory setting and an office.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours.
  • 25 days of vacation and 5 sick days per year.
  • An annual bonus, pension contribution, and life and health insurance at preferential rates.
  • Discounted mobile plans for you and your family members.
  • A free MultiSport card.
  • A meal allowance and a company canteen offering free fruit or vegetables every day.
  • A modern workplace with relaxation zones, an on-site gym, an outdoor sports area and massages in the building.
  • An open, friendly culture with a company rock band, sports teams and other activities.
  • A hackerspace with a VR headset, a video and audio recording studio, LEGO Mindstorms, a 3D printer, Arduino and more.
