Description

The company works across manufacturing, engineering, cybersecurity and space, and its people build the systems communities rely on daily.

The Air Mobility Solutions team develops air management systems that keep aircraft moving safely. Its products cover 40% of the world's airspace and support the safe take-off and landing of 2 in 3 aircraft globally.

The team works on complex air traffic management systems, including drone technology, and offers room to grow into technical or team-leading roles.

Responsibilities

  • Help integrate systems and subsystems so they work together smoothly and meet project deadlines.
  • Find issues early, report them, and work with other teams to fix them before they grow.
  • Test interfaces and connections to confirm correct communication for verification and validation (V&V).
  • Work with engineers from other teams, learning from their experience while adding your own view.
  • Script automation in Python, Shell or XML to speed up and improve processes.
  • Document your work clearly so others can reuse solutions on future projects.
  • You will sit at the centre of connecting complex systems, and you will help build the future of airspace and aviation technology.

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering, computer science or a related field.
  • A real interest in airspace and aviation systems and in contributing to new solutions in this area.
  • A basic understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and of virtualisation platforms such as VMware and KVM.
  • Some exposure to Python or Shell scripting, or to network protocols such as TCP/IP and SNMP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a drive to troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Clear communication, with the ability to explain ideas to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Teamwork and adaptability in a collaborative, global setting.
  • Openness to travel and the ability to travel is required.
  • Willingness to learn about air traffic control domains (for example ASTERIX) and cybersecurity principles (LDAP, PKI).
  • Experience is beneficial but not essential. Recent graduates and junior professionals are welcome.
  • Optional: familiarity with DevOps tools such as Ansible or Jenkins, or with configuration management using GIT, is a plus but not required.

Conditions

The role is based at the company's Melbourne office in the World Trade Centre, on Wurundjeri land.

Initial training takes place at Melbourne Airport, after which you will travel across Australia to integrate systems at client sites.

A Defence security clearance is required. You must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

Foreign government clearances may be recognised in some cases, allowing eligible people to take this role.

The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act applies, so your nationality may affect your suitability for the role.

Information on clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.

The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and circumstances and is working to make the workplace equitable for everyone.

  • Competitive pay, superannuation and profit share.
  • Performance reviewed once a year.

  • Employee discounts with partners for travel, car hire, technology and medical insurance.
  • Modernised paid parental leave and veterans leave.
