Junior IT Support Specialist

Description

The company has built cyber research, development, test and evaluation work since 2006, combining expertise in software, hardware, communications and security with long operational experience.

This junior role supports customers both remotely and on site, walking them through system setup and troubleshooting while working to fix problems quickly.

The position is full-time and based in Quantico, VA.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-user support tickets, diagnose hardware and software faults, and help with computer setup.
• Install, configure and update workstations, peripherals and operating systems.
• Watch local area networks, Wi-Fi, routers and switches to keep systems running.
• Apply basic cybersecurity controls, run data backups and follow disaster recovery steps.
• Keep track of IT inventory, document system processes and work with outside technology vendors.
• Fix technical problems on your own where you can, and escalate complex ones when needed.

Requirements

• An active or current Top-Secret clearance.
• You will need to complete a CI poly.
• An associate's degree in computer science, computer information systems or a related technical field, or an equivalent mix of education, technical training, or work or military experience.
• At least 2 years of related experience.
• A basic working knowledge of Windows, Mac and Linux environments, networks and hardware components.
• A customer-focused approach, with the ability to help non-technical staff at every level of the organization.
