(Junior) Data Engineer - Integration & AI

Description

This role is for a junior data engineer whose work sits where data engineering, integration and AI meet. It suits someone who likes linking systems, handling data, and finding ways AI can make business processes work better.

The team is global and based in Prague. You will work with integration and AI specialists to build data solutions that link applications, APIs, databases and modern data platforms.

You will use SAP Integration Suite, Databricks, cloud services and AI-enabled tools, and grow your skills in data engineering and enterprise integration.

The company builds enterprise applications and business AI, supporting finance, procurement, HR, supply chain and customer experience. It has served organizations for over 50 years.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and maintain integration solutions on SAP Integration Suite.
• Bring together data from APIs, databases, applications and other enterprise systems using SAP technologies and Databricks.
• Use AI-enabled features to strengthen data quality checks, validation and processing.
• Work with AI experts and project teams to turn project needs into reliable, scalable data solutions.
• Learn SAP integration and data engineering good practice by working on real projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues from other technical areas and learn from experienced integration and AI specialists.
• Help customers make better use of their data and adopt modern cloud and AI technology.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of AI and ML concepts is essential. Hands-on experience with AI/ML workflows, or with adding AI features to applications and data solutions, is preferred.
• Basic SQL skills and programming in Python or Java.
• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL and ELT, and how data moves between applications and systems.
• Familiarity with data preparation, validation and profiling.
• Interest in or exposure to cloud platforms and modern data tools. Experience with Databricks or a similar platform is a plus.
• Interest in enterprise integration and willingness to build expertise in SAP Integration Suite and SAP Business Technology Platform.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to work well in an international team.
• A university degree in computer science, engineering, data science, information technology or a related field. Early-career candidates with internships, student placements, or junior roles in integration, data engineering, consulting or a related area are also welcome.
